I posted an earlier board about my grassy table card idea. (Flags instead of table cards...stuck in wheat grass). We also want to do a flower arrangement and fill the base of the vase with golf balls.
Ok here is where the clashing comes in. We are naming our tables after casinos in Las Vegas (FH idea...we met there!). So when people pick up their tables card off the 'golf' table they will read they are sitting at Bellagio, etc. Is this ok to do?
At first I thought no, now I don't think I care!

Its definitely unique, but I think you have a lot of themes going on .... which may end up making it seem more like a mish mosh of things and not really a cohesive theme?

Since you seem to have a golf theme, what about naming your tables after famous golf courses, like Pebble Beach? Mary MOB

It sounds like alot of ideas clashing to me, golf balls, grass-> yea it works, table names from Vegas....I dotn konw.
I think you would be ok with doing it.. truthfully-people dont pay attention when they go to get their place cards...i know sounds ridiculous but our place cards were right in front of our ice sculpture and no one even noticed it..even tho it was 3 feet tall

I agree, it is too many different themes. grass and golf work, but grass and vegas or golf balls and vegas don't.
If you are set on using the grass to hold your place cards, then naming the tables after famous courses would be a better idea. Then you can use the golf balls for your flower arrangements.
If you are set on a Vegas theme, then I do like the idea of poker chips or even playing cards as the escort cards. Try to find an inexpensive tabletop game, such as craps or blackjack, to act as the base of your card arrangement. Fill the base of the floral arrangments with poker chips or dice mixed with glass marbles.

casino or golf otherwise you are adding too much to the mix unless you can name golf places in vegas or something.

Love the idea for table names...so unique and special to your relationship! The other idea is nice but might be much.

Ultimately it is YOUR wedding and do what you want. IF you think that it is really, really important to have the vegas thing b/c you met there then do it. Maybe you can just have the cards at the table with the story about how you met with maybe a little stamp of a casino chip or something like that? This way it isnt incorporated entirely into the whole theme, but you will have that little extra thing there.
