Do you think this is enough for the hotel baskets?

Do you think this is enough for the hotel baskets?

I was thinking of putting in Lindt Chocolate Truffles, a Yankee Candle (Wedding Day scent), a LI post card, some soap & lotion from either Garden Botanika or Body Shoppe, a welcome letter, a book of matches. I really don't want to spend too much $$, as we're starting to get low in funds. Do you think this would be enough??? Thanks!

I think the gesture is so nice and unexpected that you could just leave the chocolates with a welcome letter. Don't go crazy - I feel your 'low funds' pain

Have you found a good place to get inexpensive baskets? The cost right there can add up.

How about a booklet you prepare yourself on the history of Long Island, and maybe some sights to see in case anyone is spending an extra day here?

Personally, I would enjoy some fruit or a small bottle of wine (don't forget openers). You could skip the basket, use gift bags, and add a few more goodies.

Good luck. I love your generosity and thoughtfulness.
Am anxious to hear more responses and please let us know what you decide.

I just found something on the Garden Botanika website. I got the Fresh Mint Starter Set (which is a travel size body wash, shampoo, conditioner and a scrub) for 8.00 each. Not bad. You can't really go too wrong with a mint scent.

I already have the bags of truffles, they were 2 for $5 at Genovese the other day. I'm going to put in the small Yankee candle (Wedding Day scent), matches, the post card, and a welcome letter. I think that's substantial enough. I'm also going to buy plain white gift bags instead of baskets. You can get them for $1 each, depending on the size, at Michael's.

So each bag is costing me a touch over 20 dollars to complete. Thankfully I only have six people staying at the hotel!!!!

It sounds great, I did lindt truffles too. I also did a bottle of Pindar winter white(6.99 a bottle) and some snacks with a corkscrew from 99 cents store, pamphelets on local attractions and poland spring water!

I put in assorted candies, pack of gum, chocolates, crackers, 2 Poland Spring water in a wedding theme bag that I bought for $.50 @ Christmas Tree Shop. We had 35 rooms booked so I couldn't afford to spend too much money on the hotel baskets.

That sounds great! We have 22 rooms so we can't spend $20 each..I'm baking some cookies, adding a small tin of nuts and putting in some travel size items from body shop, and making a welcome newsletter.

I think our guests will be so surprized they won't really care what's in them!
