I have heard that your labor experience is usually similar as your mothers labors experience with you.

Re: Do you think this is true?
Not from my end of things. I am the oldest in my family. My mom was in labor for almost 2 days with me, I was in labor for only 4 hours with my daughter (my oldest), and my daughter was in labor for about 16 hours with my granddaughter!!

Nope! My mom never progressed and had to have a c-section.

Re: Do you think this is true?
I have heard this and hope it's true for me, when I FINALLY get pregnant.
My mom went to the doc for her weekly appt the day I was born. It was around 8am. He said -- yeah you're dialated, you're going to have the baby today. Go home and come on back later. So she came back around noon and I was born at 4:39pm that afternoon.
So we'll see -- if I can ever get my darn eggs to meet up with my DH darn swimmers
But I also agree -- everyone is different.

Re: Do you think this is true?
This is completely false. Total myth. Every woman is different, and a labor experience is not hereditary.

Re: Do you think this is true?
My mother had very fast labor's with each of the three of us. She hardly got to the hospital in time with my youngest sister!
I was hoping that it WOULD be hereditary. But maybe I'll just get lucky!!!
