Do you volunteer anywhere?

Well, I help my Mom, but DH has been working for Habitat For Humanity, while he has no work, and is on unemployment. Mary MOB

I volunteer at a hospital and spend time w/ elderly that suffer from dementia

I also volunteer at charter school for autistic children

My dream is habitat for humanity.

I work the missions with one of the sisters in my school, I used to do all of the soup kitchens on holidays, i loved that...

Operation FUN was my favorite...

We also do the nursing home visits, and toys for tots. I love those things...

Great job, hon!!!! My DH, has been on several missions trips in the capacity of construction. He's been to Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), orphanage in Honduras, Mississippi ( Katrina) and Alaska. I live vicariously through his trips. Great pics/stories. Mary MOB

I don't get to travel :( Sister Armida does though and she deserves it, i adore her. She is actually going to the phillipines the week of my wedding, we both cried when she told me she wouldnt be there :(

Shes one of those people who you just... know were meant for greater things you know? Like Jane Goodall!

She teaches the kids sign language, and Ive asked her to teach me... she sings all the time and teaches them so much its just amazing...

I pray to be like her one day...

Mary, have you looked at little Hannah's website? She got over 160,000 cards for christmas!

We sent about 400! The kids have to look at the site daily...

She stopped the chemo... they didn't see improvement in the tumor... so sad...

I actually don't. I have gone to a soup kitchen in manhattan once in HS.

But... FH parents are very involved with a church.. and FMIL runs a homesless shelter through the church. She cooks for them (like 30 peole) DAILY! She also donates A LOT of old clothes and stuff... whenever we have stuff to donate we give them to 'her men' as she calls it. It gets funny for FH when he see's homeless men on the avenue wearing his old old Malloy (HS) sweats and stuff. Personally, I think it's touching that his parents are so devoted to this.... so I felt like sharing more about them than me.

I have a tender heart for the deaf, since I've had so many ear issues throughout my life. I'd love to learn to sign too!!!!!!! Mary MOB

Thanks sweets! Its really amazing! Right now I'm working on something huge for them. I'm trying to get their merchandise in all the stores around campus... which would be awesome! They have tried for so long but I have a really good feeling it will happen. I have a meeting on the 16th so keep your fingers crossed! It would be sooo amazing for them if it happened!!!!

My mom does a lot for them as well... The women who get breast cancer go to see my mom after they loose their hair and my mom's shop donates the wig and all the accessories.
