MThe old wives tales say that it just makes you sicker. Do you beleive it does or do you wash your hair anyways and nothing happens?

Yes but make sure you dry it COMPLETELY
It's because your resistance is already down because of being sick - you don't want to make it worse by having a damp head.
Feel better

I don't think it makes any difference if your head is wet or not, as far as germs, lowered resistance, etc.

if your resistence is lowered, a wet head will just make it 'easier' for a cold to attack.
my mom said never go out with a wet head.
if your resistance is OK - then wet head is fine but if you're already sick or on the way to getting sick wet head isn't going to help any.
take some oj, a vitamin and echinacea if you can. they won't prevent a cold but maybe will make you feel better.

How does a wet head make it easier for a cold to attack? No offense, I just really don't see how it's possible.

I think the wet head thing is a wives tale. But having a wet head might make you feel cold and that might not feel good when you are sick.

Re: Do you wash your hair when you are Sick?
I always shower when I'm sick. Just b/c it makes me feel better, being clean and smelling like soap (maybe that's a little wierd....). Anyway, having a wet head doesn't have anything to do w/ getting sick or staying sick; it's an old wives tale. It's like going outside when it's 0 degrees out w/ no coat (you may get hypothermia but unless you come in contact w/ germs you won't catch a cold!)

because if your resistance is lowered and you go out with a wet head (or no coat) I guess it lowers it even more to get a cold.
Maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Do you wash your hair when you are Sick?
I'm with you on this one. I love to take a shower, wash my hair, shave my legs, etc., when I am sick. I feel a million times better, more alert and crazy as it may seem, I feel like I am washing germs away.
Go for it, just make sure to dry your hair because it is so humid out, your hair will need some help
