Re: DOC
I don't plan on one, I don't even know what they are supposed to do, like a waste of money or something!

Re: DOC
I thought about having one, and then nixxed the idea when most of the DOC's run $500+.
HOWEVER, someone on here contacted me who's just starting her business as a Wedding Planner/DOC, and I hired her on the spot!
She's an LIWeddy - I'll make sure she's okay w/me promoting her business, and post her info.

Re: DOC
DOC can range from $400 to well over $1000. I'm not planning on getting one - I think I'll be fine with the Bridal Attendants and the Maitre 'D.

Re: DOC
I'm getting One!!!! Her name is Michelle Nocella from Defining Moments.... She is great!!! She is there to take care of any and all problems that occurr... To make sure all my details that I worked so hard on throught the 2 1/2 years of planning are perfect and the way I want them to be... And especially after my sisters wedding, running around like a chicken, gathering all the table cameras, and cake topper, and whatever else needed to be gathered, I am definate about my decision. I don't want my BM's to run around taking care of things... I want to be relaxed and enjoy my day!!!!!!
Good Luck in your decision!!!!!

Re: DOC
I am having a DOC and she is not costing too too much and for what she will do, she is well worth it, they do things that the bridal att. and mat. d wont necessarily do
i worked at different catering halls and much to my surprise the bridal attendants and mat.d arent ALWAYS as helpful as we would like! I was a 17 year bridal attendant at one catering hall with little experience..
I know that there are plenty of GREAT ones out there, but you cant completely count on it, cause you just dont know who they will get that day

Re: DOC
Oh and I decided I wanted one because I am a LUNATIC about pictures and I want someone kind of in charge of making sure I get all the ones I want.
I also dont want to have to worry about some of the other little things that the hall wont take care of etc.

Re: DOC
I may get one because:
1) Just as a reassurance to have that person who knows what they are doing around
2) I'm doing the Polaroid Photobook so they would be in charge of that
3) I don't trust any of FH's GM to handle the money and paying the vendors at the end of the night (they are all gonna be SO drunk) and really don't want to burden any of my family members with this responsibility

Same reasons plus:
-the DOC will help w/the rehersal -coordinate w/all the vendors, and deal w/them when they normally would call you -coordinate the tables to look how you want them, especially b/c a lot of halls don't do that the way you'd like them to(like adding the favors on the table, etc.) -Can't expect to do everything yourself or others in your BP to do it b/c you and them should be enjoying the day!

All good points I didn't think of! Thanks ladies! If one is relatively inexpensive, I may consider it.

I too am using Michelle. From the moment FH and I met with her, it was like we knew each other for YEARS! The biggest reason I wanted to hire a DOC was after the minor mishaps that happened with my E-Party. I have TONS of faith and confidence in Michelle! Oh, I think we got along SO well b/c we're both Sagittarians!
