Re: DOC

I'm getting one, I'm meeting with her on monday to sign the contract. I'm going with Rosalie from Expressions. A lot of girls have used her and have had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. I want the peace of mind knowing that myself, my FH, and both our familes and bridal party won't be bothered with problems the day of the wedding and that we'll be able to enjoy the day worry free. Plus they can help set the guys up at the church, hand out the monies to the other vendors. They usually think of the things and situations that we would never consider would go wrong and handle them accordingly. Its a definite ease of mind for me.

I did...here's why...

Our wedding was full of details. Special little details that were in my head and only my head. I met with our hall and talked to one of the Maitre D's...it was like talking to a hyperactive puppy who was chasing his own tail. (needless to say he's not there anymore!) After then FH and I left we got worried. Not to mention after being on this site I acquired more projects which also meant MORE details. After speaking with my MOH she says...'That's what I'm here for'. I told her No, you'll be with me taking pictures, running from here to there you won't have time to take care of all the little details. AND when the party starts...I want you all to enjoy it! Including myself. I didn't want to be bothered with the mishaps of the day AND let me tell you...no matter how much planning you do...there will always be mishaps! With a DOC...you don't know of the mishaps until she calls you two weeks after your wedding to fill you in.

Also, we decided to take pictures before the ceremony, but not together. We had to be kept apart all morning at our hall.

Oh and we paid for everything 100%...We both wanted to enjoy every minute of it and not be bothered... After paying thousands of dollars for a few hours...we just wanted to have a good time!

I hope this helps...if anyone has any questions please let me know. There are tons of DOCs out there. Meet with a few just like any other vendors. Personalities make a big difference in who you hire. What might be good for one might not be good for others. Also look for someone who's completely detailed oriented. Very important!

Re: DOC

I was unsure till I started reading all the reviews of the brides that had one. Then I decided that I should get one. The prices that I have seen are not bad. Well worth the price in the end!!

This task has been dropped to the bottom of my list.... not a priority right now to find one!!!

I think I'm getting one. Especially since I'm getting married in the city and the reception is on LI. I'm going to need someone to hand out the directions and give out the toll money pouches.

Me too for money reasons....I actually would like to have one though to relieve stress. I was thinking of asking a friend to help me out
