Since I'm having something a little different and really wanted someone with experience with outdoor vineyard weddings... I decided to hire a local FM if you need a vineyard planner.

Shes charging 1500 for the day, but she is super easy to email and get information and ideas from. Before I even hired her, we must have exchanged 5 long long emails about wedding related stuff that I was confused about.

She's also my florist, so I thought that would be perfect.
And she knew all the local vendors and was really honest about them, I loved that! She was even mindful of my budget worries. Do you know how many DOC referred me to poor quality expensive vendors and said 'we are not going to help you with budget.'


Oh and I interviewed and talked to a handful of DOC vendors on this site, and those recommend by girls on this site. The most popular where too busy for me. The rest left me underwhelmed.

Wow thats some statement, they were too busy for you? Or were they booked and underwhelmed...im shocked, I interviewed plenty of the vendors on this site and most were extremely helpful all around. Its not up to the DOC to help you with your budget...a DOC is for the day of-yes they will help with referral for vendors and spend time on making sure they understand what you want but when you hire them for just the day you cant expect full service...maybe Im totally off but that is what it sounds like to me. i got a full planner and she made sure each vendor stuck with my budget-but I paid her for this

FH was so calm after that meeting.. I should probably have a session with her right before..

Yep, I'm going to mail contract today!

I had so many unhappy experiences with coordinators. I went to meet Becky with my mom. My mom was ready to hire her on the spot. I was still unsure.

Becky is great and knows everyone and everything in North Fork!
