DOC???

How many of you are using one? how long will they be staying? how much is the average rate? and who are you using???

Sorry to be a pain but I just realized that we need one, bad....we have a 30 person wedding party and I think it will be a nightmare without some help!!!!

I can't imagine not having one, my mom is totally spastic so I need somebody that can get stuff done. I can't be in two places at once, too bad.

I'm not, because things are pretty solidly set, and I'm unbelievably anal, but moreso, is my Mom. She has not had to plan this wedding, as she did my brother's (I know, backwards). I have done this whole thing myself, and she did my brother's -- they picked their church and hall, and of course the dresses -- but as they were in CA and she was on LI at the time, she did ALOT of the work that goes into this.

For my wedding, she's in FL and I'm in VA, so I did it all and she's looking for something to do because she didn't get to do the same planning fun for the wedding. So while I will do everything I can to make sure things are perfect up until ceremony start time, she will take over from there, and if you knew my Mom, you'd know - - - - there is no better DOC. If ONE thing is awry, they'll take care of it IMMEDIATELY or wind up refunding cash. Apologies won't be acceptable if there is one mistake. She's just good at this type of thing, and loves to do it! You'd have to know her, but I've always said she should have been an event planner!!!

If I didn't have her, I'd get a DOC!!!!

We have an event manager with our RH who will sort of act as one. Although we want him to take a back seat for the most part and just announce things like dinner, dessert, etc.

Rate depends on how you get one. Sometimes they come with a DJ, sometimes your RH will have one, and sometimes you have to get one separate. And that means they could be anywhere from free/included in the package to several hundred.

I think depending on how much you want them to direct and how much you have going on they can be necessary, but we want the day to just flow and not have a lot of little things going on so we're opting not to really have one.

I'm using Exquisite Affairs. They are an LIW vendor and also have had GREAT reviews on here. Their prices are extremely reasonable.
For Day OF, they are staying for 10 hours.

I am so anal as well that this is going to be hard but i really want to enjoy the day and i can see my at burtons at ten am the day of my wedding making sure the flowers are right lol

REALLY!!! when i went for my hair trial, i spoke with her and her associate (as they share studio space with the hair/ MU artist). i didn't committ though b/c the sprice was kinda steep
