What made you decide to get a DOC. I was all set to get one...then my friends convinced me it was a huge waste of money.
Now FH seems more interested in having one than I do.
Why exactly did you get one...and how did you select one? The prices vary so was wondering what makes someone for $1,000 any better than someone for $400 : )

My RH provided me with a wedding planner (Francesca from Dazzling Affairs) with our package. We get her all the way up until 1 month before our wedding. If we decided to book her for the month of our wedding + as a DOC with an assistant, the fee was $950. After meeting with her several times we decided we loved her and felt very comfortable with her. I could see myself getting nervous and freaking out the day of, so just the idea of having her there already put me at ease. So thats why we booked her.

Honestly my timeline. Everything is so close together since it's an afternoon wedding and I didn't want to waste time making sure my CPs were right and the favors were set up in the right place and my cake topper is on the cake and that the placecard holders are set up... and so on... I want by biggest worry to be whether or not I'm going to trip down the aisle and let someone else worry about the small details.
As far as price goes If it's an individual over a company you'll see a difference but you have to feel comfortable with the person and trust them. They are the person that is going to make sure your day is running smoothly.
