FH and I are trying to determine if we need or DOC through the reception... What exactly does the DOC do during the reception??

So wait, do you have a DOC? Or you thinking of getting one? Either way, the DOC will pretty much be with you through the day until the reception(maybe an hour into reception) Once you're settled in reception, your bridal attendant and maitre D take over. I have a DOC and shes with me for 10 hours. She'll be with me at my house through getting ready through coctail hour then leaves after an hour into reception. Having her with me through the early part of the day was more important. I wont have to worry about anything knowing shes there..

We have one already, but are trying to figure out if we want to keep her through the entire reception or just up until the reception. We are having a tent wedding and do not have a bridal attendant, so I'm trying to decide if I need her there into the reception. Are there any responsibilities she would have during?? I was kind of thinking my DJ would keep it flowing after the intros, but I dont want to be left high and dry if this is not the case. What do you think?

Ohhh well in that case then I would say if you can keep her, keep her. You may be in need of something that someone else may not be able to help you with. Maybe a stain on dress, they ususally have emergency kits. All the DJ is gonna do is make sure everyone is having a good time. DOC arent gonna do that. her main priority is helping you and your FH with any needs you may have. Its def something to think about. She'll make sure you've eaten, Make sure the photographer has taken all the pictures you want, make sure the centerpieces are the way you want them, and being that you wont have a bridal attendant, she'll be it. If you can swing it, I would keep her

Definitely keep her through the reception!
I had a bridal attendant, but my DOC was great in making sure that I ate, took the pictures I wanted, organized my stuff, helped with my dress when everyone kept stepping on it, etc. You may not need her through the entire reception, but definitely at least through the cake cutting to make sure that you don't have to worry about anything going wrong!

We're not using a DOC at all, so we're relying heavily on the maitre'd and the bridal attendants for the reception.
Since you don't have bridal attendants I would say to go for it!

Our DOC did EVERYTHING!! She kept everything running smoothly, made all pictures were taken (and hunted down family members for pics), made sure I ate, kept everyone in place at church, fixed my dress, hair, makeup, carried around my lipgloss. She was a lifesaver!!
We used Francesca from Dazzling Affairs-- I would highly reccomend her!
