So I think Isabella and Mara swayed me- I was on the fence about getting a DOC, but now I am thinking maybe I need one. (FH is going to hate you two kidding)
Could you girls recommend who you're using and what kinds of things theyre doing for you?

Re: DOC
I am using Christine of Piece of Cake Events
I am doing the full day which is 10 hours
A few weeks prior I will meet with her and we go over the day of timeline, she confirms with all my vendors the week before. she is available between now and the wedding by phone and email for any questions (I have used this already!)
The day of she will get to my house when the hair and makeup gets there... Make sure everything stays on schedule and makes sure the girls are where they are suppose to be when they are suppose to be. She will be there to make sure if there are any problems with any of the vendors she is the one to deal with them. At the meeting a few weeks before the wedding you give her a copy of all the contracts so that she knows what is suppose to happen and tell her any of the details that there are.
Basically she is there if any problems and help with directing people to be in the right place at the right time.
She will help make sure my must have pictures are done, etc.

Re: DOC
My Bridal Manager also told me that I do not need one. Although I love her I do not agree.
The RH only has control over what happens at the RH.
Here is an example... You are suppose to have plasma tvs through the DJ. The day of your wedding the DJ comes and sets up and does not have the plasma tvs set up. The BM will not know what you are suppose to have plasma tvs set up and even if they do they will not go to the DJ and tell them that they have to get the plasma tvs there. If you had a DOC the DOC would know that you were suppose to have them and would handle it with the DJ.
Here is another example..... You are getting ready and the limo is suppose to be at your house to pick you up at 1pm. 1pm comes and the limo does not show up yet. The BM will not be there to call and take care of it. If you do not have a DOC then someone in your bridal party (or yourself) will have to call and find out what is going on.
With that being said I do not think that a DOC is an absolute necessity but if you can swing it financially I think it is a way to make sure that you and your bridal party are able to enjoy your wedding.
Of course all of our weddings are going to be perfect and threfore we will not need one but I look at it like an insurance policy! (you have it just in case)

I totally felt the same way. I am really worried about time lines and the little things I want to add at the reception that the BM might forget or lose. Then it comes down to choosing which DOC to go with.

Re: DOC
I am going with Laura from LA Productions. She has been doing this for like 20yrs and she was so great when I met her. She went over everything about my wedding when I first met her and was so energetic and excited. One of the main things for me was that the DOC had done a wedding at my venue and she was great cause she knew everyones name there as soon as I said the name of my hall. Below is the package I got :)
Up to 2 comprehensive detailed planning meetings Discussion of theme, color, style, and complete wedding design Create timeline for ceremony and reception Design processional and recessional for ceremony Collect vendor information (contracts, floor plans, etc.) Collect seating charts and layouts Wedding site walk-through with caterer or wedding service provider Review wedding plans and add suggestions and/or items to be considered Basic follow-up coordination calls to vendors to confirm all details and directions Follow-up calls with Bride and Groom and/or Family Coordination of rehearsal and provide itinerary for Wedding Party Wedding Emergency Kits - if a need arises, we probably have the solution in one of our kits; we come prepared with everything but the kitchen sink! Supervision of service providers, including load-ins, setups, strikes and load-outs Unlimited coordination hours on your wedding day
