Re: DOC
I had a really small wedding - about 55 people. I had a bridal attendent and a maitre'd. It was the best decision to get a DOC. Things were set up as I wanted them to be and they handled everything and made sure things were running smoothly. I got a special deal on mine, but they can run anywhere from $400 and up is my guess, but you might be able to get a better deal on them.

Re: DOC
I hired one mostly b/c I want someone checking off that each picture on my must take photo list gets done. Anything else they can help me with is icing on the cake.

Re: DOC
We decided to hire one because we are doing a DIY photo booth and wanted someone to change ink cartridges, etc. I was surprised at how inexpensive they were. I am meeting with one soon. They are giving me a discount because I am a liwedding bride!
Here is what they said they would do: -Unlimited contact from the moment you contract us - 10 hour coverage with 2 planners on your special day -Two face to face meetings prior to your event (1 initial consultation and 1 meeting the week of your event) - Custom time-line, tipping guide and checklist for the day of the wedding (copies of timeline will be distributed to all of your vendors) -Review of all preexisting or new contracts -Confirmation with all vendors the week of the event -Assistance with your guest list, seating chart and RSVP's if needed -Coordinate bridal party entrance and receiving line -Distribution of bubbles, flower petals, programs and/or any other items you would like your guests to have - Inspection of venue layout and set-up -Execute the placement of all details such as place cards, menus, favors, etc. -Coordinate reception timeline (entrance, dances, toasts, cake cutting, etc.) - Guest assistance- special attention to any special needs or requests from your guests - Final payment and gratuity distribution to all vendors - Provide bridal 'emergency kit' - Collection of all of the bride's items at the end of the event
From what I have seen, this seems like what most of the DOCs do, with slight variations for price/packages. Like I said, I haven't met with this company yet, but it seems worth it to me. I can let you girls know how it goes when I meet them.

Re: DOC
Check out Cheeky Glam Events.. I booked them on the spot and love them!!
I decided to go for it because I don't want to have to be stressed about things not being set up, or having to hand out bubbles and programs and I really didn't want to ask my BMs to do it since I'd prob end up getting involved one way or the other
I just like to have the piece of mind that things will be done as I planned and if they arent then there is someone else there to fix it so it doesn't ruin my day.

Re: DOC
my BA did jack shyt for me... i deeply regret not having a DOC... not just for the day of but leading up to it...
its not to say that they are totally necessary for everyone but for me, it would have saved me a lot of headaches

Re: DOC
Even though we had the Bridal Attendant and the MD at the wedding, I was very happy to have my friend/DOC there as well. She was with me from day one of planning and knew all of our ideas for the wedding and how we wanted things to run and be set up. She was for the church rehearsal to help tell people where they had to go so we didn't have to and was there the morning of the wedding to set up. She was at the Riviera before we arrived to assist in the setup and make sure is everything was how we had discussed. She was also just there throughout the planning as a ear to listen to anything I was worried about or needed help with. I'm sure if she wasn't there the wedding would have went off just fine, but the fact that she was there made me not worry about it as much.

Re: DOC
We did a TON of DIY stuff and had no DOC. It was no problem, our maitre'd was amazing and took care of everything. We tipped him well for it though.
