We found a DOC that was recommended on LIW. She's VERY reasonable--- $450. But now we are having second thoughts about another added expense. For those of you who had one at your wedding--- was it worth the extra money? TIA

Re: DOC---- Help!!
Don't have second thoughts about the DOC expense. It's like added insurance for your day. Think about all of the money you are spending. Your DOC is going to make sure you are getting what you paid for and take care of problems that day. Your only concern regarding a DOC should be whether or not you're picking the right one. Good Luck!

it was so worth it, and at that price, its a steal. knowing what our DOC did, we would have paid double. she was so on top of our day, she made it flawless.

I think this is such a good way to look at it. I only booked my DOC for a 1/2 day because I do have a bridal attendant for the latter half.. but I think it'll make my prep process much smoother

Thank you all for your advice. This is such a tough decision because there are so may other things the money could be used for.

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a minute lol... I've decided AGAINST using a DOC, because I feel that the Matre'D will be taking care of organizing and coordinating everyone. Plus, I think certain jobs (ie anything that needs to be set up) can be allocated to family members or friends without having to pay all the extra money. I don't mean to knock anyone who uses one; in the end, I think it's a personal preference. However, in MY opinion, the money could be used elsewhere if you're on the fence about it.

Re: DOC---- Help!!
We hired a DOC and she has been terrific so far. She is always checking in with me and offering really great ideas. I know some people say 'well family can handle that' but I don't want my mother running around that day. I want my family to sit back and relax and enjoy the day. My doc is just wonderful - Vanessa from BYSE.
