DOC Help Please!

I'm posting here and in 'Brides' We need help!

We found a DOC that was recommended on LIW. She is very reasonable-- $450. Now we are having second thoughts about the extra expense.
For any one who has had one--- is it worth the extra money? TIA

Land's End has one, but I heard that a bridal attendant's main job is taking care of the bride. The DOC makes sure all the vendors are working together and where they should be, pays them at the end of the night, and is basically in charge of the wedding as a whole not just one specific part. Someone in a previous post said they are like insurance. I guess if everything goes smoothly without one-- then it would have been a waste of money, but if there is a MAJOR glich-- as some brides have mentioned , they take care of it all so the family can enjoy the wedding. There are definitely A LOT of things that we could do with $450 (plus tip!)
This is when being rich REALLY would have its benefits!!!!

From what I understand the job of the bridal attendant is to get your drinks, help you in the bathroom, and be your liaison to the BM if you have any concerns.

I booked a DOC because I am getting married in the morning and I need to take pictures before the ceremony at a location other than my church. I need someone to make sure all my photographer gets all the must takes and keeps us on time. I also dont have a church coordinator so she will serve to help us there too. The last reason is I want to be able to leave my wedding and not worry about anything. She will take care of the tips and making sure everything is packed up and brought back for me like the top tier of the cake, gifts, stuff from the bridal suite, etc.
