Doc in Suffolk Help... Please!!!

Ok.. so a friend of mine has been going through a rough patch in her life and needs some help getting through it. She doesnt talk to too many people about her issues and when she does she feels like it doesn't get her anywhere...
I suggested going to see a Therapist a while ago.. its by no means a bad thing.
Sometimes I wish that I had a complete stranger to talk to withouth getting critizised or having someone taking sides or all that BS people in our everyday lives happen to give us.

Whatever...bottom line is that she is ready to go see a Dr. but doesn't know where to start. I would help her look but I'm from Queens and she is in Suffolk.

Does anyone know a good therapist in Suffolk?????
Please let me know..FM me if u dont want to post it.

Thanks girls

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT IS GOING ON FOR HER RIGHT NOW. DIFFERENT THERAPISTS HAVE DIFFERENT SPECIALTIES. I WOULD CHECK WITH HER INSURANCE BECASUE IT CAN BE A PAIN TRYING TO LOCATE A PROVIDER ON YOUR PLAN. IF SHE IS OVERWHELMED THEN IT WOULD BE EASIER FOR HER TO GO THROUGH INSURANCE. IT IS LESS OD A RUN AROUND. INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE CASE MANAGERS WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO HAVE HER LOCATE A PROVIDER. YOU CAN ALSO TRY THE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION FOR SUFFOLK. THERE PHONE NUMBER IS 631-226-3900 OR 631-273-4466.

i used to go see someone... she's not necessarily a psychologist; more of just a counselor/social worker. she is the sweetest lady; great to talk to; great advice; and works out of an office in her house. she's in miller place and her name is bonnie quilty (she might be listed under dorothy quilty though) sorry i don't have her number on me.
