No personal experience here and I have asked these question before it seems it's 50/50. Some brides loved their DOC and others have said totally not necessary. I guess it depends on your preference & venue.

Re: DOC? necessary? beneficial?
I think a DOC would be practical depending on the size of your wedding. If it's on the larger scale I would suggest it but also I think most venues provide a bridal attendant as well as a Maitre'D which basically functions like a DOC and of course your budget should also be a factor.

I am using Cheeky Glam and they are life savers. They recommended plenty of vendors for me and gave me pointers. There is way less stress in planning and I feel like nothing is going to go wrong on my day especially with all the extra little details.

I had a Modern Day Affair and lets just say they pretty much saved my day because there are some things that the maitre d couldnt do like while we got ready or went to the church. see my review.

Exactly this! Love them!

Re: DOC? necessary? beneficial?
it not necessary plenty of ppl have had weddings without them but i personally want one and have one. it puts ur mind at ease to know someone else will make sure evrything goes as planned. you worked so hard and spend alot of $ on your wedding that it goes soo fast you dont want to waste a min with anyone coming to you with any issues.

I am currently on the fence about this. I am getting married at my RH, so it will all be in one place. I like the idea of having someone who will make sure everything is running on time, in place, and to get vendors and guests in order...but I also don't know if I want to have yet another person in my face all day. I am not sure what to do at this point!! I am really undecided...

Re: DOC? necessary? beneficial?
AMDA ROCKED on my Wedding day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didnt had to take care of ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! My mom/dad/IL/ BM had nothing to do since they did everything... They kept me on track and remind me of MANY things i asked (Including taking my Birth control pill lol)..
I think it totally depends on your schedule and venue. My ceremony and reception are in the same place (Westbury Manor). WM actually gave me a free appointment with a wedding planner who offers DOC services, and she told me straight up that I did not need one as my bridal attendant and maitre d would be doing everything I needed. If we didn't have good attendants or had to move around during the day, I would have definitely thought about getting one, but it just doesn't make sense for me.

I was on the fence about using a DOC, and i made an appt w Cheeky Glam just to see what it was about and what It would help with. I was NOT sorry I did this. I feel in LOVE with both ladies! They have rescued me several times and made me feel comfortable with the decisions i have made so far. They have provided endless feedback and support and i am not getting married until 2013!! I spent 4 hours w Cheeky and I felt like i was with old friends. I am also a control freak so it was really important for me to be able to turn over the need to be in control that day to someone I trust. Without a doubt this is Cheeky!
(sorry about my mini rave) Good Luck!

Re: DOC? necessary? beneficial?
it depends on your schedule and timeline
if you're getting married at a RH, i dont really think it's necessary, but if you have lots of people moving around (e.g. from church to picture taking location to rh), for me it was an absolute MUST
the DOC is YOUR advocate. yeah, your BA and MD are there, but at the end of the day, they work for your RH and not for you. If you have a problem with your RH, which i did the day of, the BA or MD isnt goign to go to bat for you b/c that's their boss. my DOC did.
i would hire her a million times over again and pay 10x as much

Re: DOC? necessary? beneficial?
I am using Laura at LA productions. She had been wonderful! She has given so many vedor recs and answered all my little questions. my wedding is all in one place, but i have a ton of little details, and I want my wedding to run a bit differently then my Rh usually does it. She has worked at my hall many times and knows everyone there. It is great to know that she will not only cover all these details, but she will make my timeline, confirm my vendors, take any vendor questions, do my bustle, and collect and box up all my personal items for me at the end of the night. Having this all taken care of means everyone can just enjoy the whole day.

Re: DOC? necessary? beneficial?
I used Written Confections for my DOC and had a wonderful experience. I think it depends on your wedding schedule whether or not you need a DOC. IF you are getting married at your rh I don't think it is necessary. For me we did pictures at Chelsea Manor prior to our ceremony at our church and then went to our rh. For me it was nice know that one of my family members didn't need to think of everything and I loved having someone making sure all of my must take pictures were being taken.
