I didn't want to hire one initially. I'm not a bridezilla, I didn't think it was necessary, and I didn't think it would be in budget either. However, since I am doing a lot of DIY and I'm a little nerotic, I decided to price some...When I found Love By Detail, I was sold! She is a former LIW bride. I can fm you her info.
No need if you are organized. Everything was great and anything that I wanted changed, that's why you have A maitre de and a bridal attendant

What do you think about a DOC? Necessary or not? I didn't think so but then thinking about all the little details makes me nervous about who will take care of that. If you did hire a DOC, can you please FM me quotes???
I've been in weddings with them and I've been in weddings without them and there really was no difference so I'm saving my money.
I get stressed very easily, as does my mother - which is why I hired one.
I'm always the one everyone goes to with problems. Obviously I can't do that at my own wedding so I decided to hire one.

I'm booked with Once Upon an Event and they have been fantastic so far! I don't need any added stress on our big day so for me it was a big peace of mind. I also didn't want to burden my mother, FMIL, or my bridesmaids with setting things up (ie: my candy buffet) because I want them to enjoy the day too.
I think it really depends on your situation and venue. We did not hire one. Everything went very smoothly and my BM handled most of the aspects. If you have the $ and you want piece of mind go for it. If not, skip it & save your money.
I didn't hire one because I won it at the 2013 bridal shower. But I mostly wanted someone to help me stay on track while getting ready. I added 2 extra hours to the package so she was there till we got settled at the reception and I found her to be very helpful. You can read more about her in my review.

I am organized, but stress very easily. And that is something I don't want to do on my wedding day. I decided to hire someone who was really affordable to work w/me the entire day! I just sent you FM w/her information.
I really want a DOC but can't look into one until we've secured everything else but I think it's worth it!!
I am super organized and on top of every thing, but felt for the amount of stuff I had DIY-ed and had to be set up, I wanted someone who would be there to make sure every thing is how I wanted it to be, plus they handled contacting my vendors the day before... that wasn't something I wanted to deal with the day before my wedding. A Modern Day Affair did an awesome job at my wedding and I felt so much better knowing I had Laura & Shauna there to help me out, if needed!
