IMHO, it depends on what you have going on during your day. When my plan was to have the ceremony at the reception hall, I had no intention of hiring a DOC. However, my ceremony is now being held at a private home with a bunch of details I won't bore you with. There is no way I would do it this way without hiring someone to make sure it goes off without a hitch, or alternatively to fix whatever goes wrong and keep it a secret from me the day off!!

I think it's a good idea. My brother did not have a DOC at his wedding - even though they had wedding planners, etc. No on knew what was going on the day of and I had to step in and play DOC for the day. I didn't mind because I was happy to relieve him and his wife from some stress, but that kind of chaos will not be happening on my day. I hired a DOC to deal with the day of details - believe me, there are more things that come up than you think.

I think it is a personal opinion. You have to decide if you want one, what you will have them do. Is it worth the money for what you will be using it for. If it is not for a lot of stuff maybe one or two things ask a friend or a relative.

at first i wasn't going to get one...but now i'm convinced that i need one. we're having the ceremony in a church and there are lots of little things but the biggest thing is i don't want to be bothered and i don't want anyone in our families bothered with small details or problems, i want everyone to be able to enjoy the day!

i'm not using one, and none of my friends have used them either. their weddings turned out beautifully, so i know mine will too. i can't justify the extra expense for something i can do myself, with the help of my BMs

My wedding will be beautiful with or without one as well. However, if the Chief of Police needs to contact someone during the ceremony due to parking issues, (he said he needs a phone number of someone to contact) I don't want it to be me, the groom, my BM, my family, his family, his GM etc. Things like that are for professionals, not guests. JMHO.

I think it also depends on your place, for my site they are not that organized so I think it is a necessity, but JT is suppose to be well run and you have an attendant for the day already. I guess I would think about what responsibilities you have that are not being taken care of.

I am getting one. I know that Westbury Manor will take care of me, but I just don't want to worry about anything on my wedding day but enjoying myself!

I am having one for many reasons... one of which is that I dont want myself, my mother, or my bridesmaids dealing with issues that day. It is a day i want everyone to rela x and if things arise what will happen? They will have to contact a family member ...i dont want to stress anyone out.

Also, there are many details i have that need to be taken care of.

there are other reasons, but to make a long story short we hired Rosalie as our DOC and she already has done so much to relieve stress...
not all docs are a lot of $$$ and for me personally it was worth the extra expense...for peace of mind

fh didnt think we needed one, but he wanted my mom , me and his mom to be stress free
