DOC -- worth it?

DOC -- worth it?

Does anyone know how much a DOC usually costs? I'm thinking that it might be worth it because I stress out very easily and I don't want to be stressed on the big day! But we're also paying for the wedding by ourselves and are on a budget. What are your thoughts on a DOC? Worth it or not?

As always, thanks!

It's hard to say. Some people couldn't imagine not having one while others don't think they are worth the money. I haven't met with any to find out exactly what their services include so I'm not sure if I will make that added expense.

I think its worth it when you are renting a space and have an outside caterer and have to rent all the stuff to go along with that. I think if you are using a hall, you can get away with not having one as the situation is more organized.

thanks for the input. i'm getting married at the reception site as well, so maybe there's not too much coordination that needs to get done.

I don't think it's worth it unless you are having a wedding with like 500 people at a HUGE place with Platinum Weddings style craziness!! JMO

I'm looking into hiring one right now. I do think it will be worth it - for me I have a lot of small 'touches' that I want incorporated, and I don't trust my banquet manager to handle it all. I'm doing a lot of projects on my own and I'm very particular, so I need someone to make my 'vision' happen :) HTH

I'm having one because I don't want to feel stressed that day. She will call all my vendors to confirm and intercept any calls from them on the day of. That way if there is a problem, I won't have to know about it or deal with it. I found a great DOC for a great price and it is my gift to myself. All the planning will still be done by me and FH.

Honestly...I want to be a guest at my wedding
