DOC w/poll

I was planning on signing a contract...but the DOC I spoke with never sent me one!!!! Needless to say I am turned off and am re-thinking if I need one. Can you guys let me know if you are using one or not...no need to tell me who...

I'm using one. My ceremony and reception are in two different locations. My ceremony is a little unusual, and I really need someone to make sure all the little details go off without a hitch (or at least without a hitch that I have to take care of that day).

I have felt so much calmer since I signed the contract. Actually, meeting with a few helped in and of itself. As I met with each one and went through each and every thing I had completed I realized how much I had accomplished, and how little I had left to do.

I don't think I'm using one because, we are getting married at the same place and our ceremony starts at 8pm, so we are going to set everything up ourselves, (with friends, family and BP.)

I got one for a few reasons:

1) I don't want to have to worry about whether the small details that I worked so long on (as well as the larger details) were overlooked or not the way I want them to be. My DOC will make sure everything is just so I imagined, and will make sure my day is stress free

2) I don't want to worry about final payments or give this task to anyone (I don't want to burden my family, and don't trust the BM - hah!). The DOC will take care of this for me.

3) Photo Guest Book - FH and I LOVE this idea, but we want to make sure there is someone there to take the photos. Our DOC said she would do this for us.

4) Confirming Vendors - my DOC will confirm the vendors the week/day before - so that is one less stress the week of the wedding (during which I am sure I will be stressing).

I don't think a DOC is necessary, but having one has given me some peace of mind - so I think it was worth the money for me for that reason (I am a worry-wart!)

I'm using one for a few reasons:

1. Confirmation of Vendors, takes one thing off my back before hand. She will confirm twice with each of my vendors beforehand.

2. DeSeversky is not your typical catering hall. I've heard some (horror) stories and it seems they need some help when it comes to weddings. I'd rather have a DOC take care of all the behind the scene mishaps. I want to enjoy my day and not worry about staffing and serving/food problems. She is there to make sure everything runs smoothly and nobody notices any gliches.

3. Guidance: I'm getting great advice from my DOC as to which vendors to use, places to order things that I would never have known about otherwise.

4. It wasn't really a big expensive when you add up all she is doing for me in the scheme of things. She is already working with me on things and my wedding isn't for another year.

I am most definitely using one!!! I don't want to think about anything that night and if any problems arise I don't want to know about them. I've been planning this wedding for a year already (I feel like I am giving birth to it!) and that night and just want to party and have a good time. I convinced FH that it will be the best $ we spend for the wedding!!!

i am not using one....my hall has both a bm and a bridal attendant. at the church they tell you what to do. i just think its someone else to keep track of that day and who needs that?
