I really want one. My place has a bridal attendant, but i don't know i feel like a DOC would be more attentive to my needs....

IMO it's not necessary, and it's def. not something I want to spend money on.

I don't think it's completely necessary! I didn't have one and the day went so smoothly!! If you have the extra cash and want one then go for it but I didn't see the need for one.
I think in other states where they don't have a bridal attendant or maitre de (my bro's getting married in SC and they don't have them and many places never even heard of that) then I'd def want one! BUT they're on their game here in NY so....I guess it's really up to you!

Re: DOC.. Yes or No??
I had one (Francesca from Dazzling Affairs) and she was without a doubt my saving grace that day. If things go smoothly then there is no need for one-but you never know what is going to happen and I did NOT by any means want to deal with anything that did go wrong.
If you can swing it and dont want to deal with anything I would definitely get one. Its not necessary but it definitely made me feel alot better knowing that I couldnt have forgotten anything b/c of her
ETA: I felt that my bridal attendants were almost worthless-yes they carried my bok bustled my dress but that was about it-the best money ever spent was on our planner without a doubt

I think I want to get one.. i think it will be easier on that day... she/he will make everything run smoother... and worry about paying everyone the rest of the money..

Re: DOC.. Yes or No??
I think it's SOOOOO worth it.
I had a DOC (Michelle Gordon of Defining Moments) and she was a LIFEASAVER!!!
One of the BIGGEST things a DOC can do (which Michelle did for me) was a buffer between ALL vendors (and family) and me. I started the day off with telling my family (who was asking me 'What time is this?' 'What time is that?' 'When are we leaving?') 'Today, all questions go to Michelle' This enabled me to relax and chill. That was great. Also, when there was a BIG issue at the reception (w/ the cake) Michelle handled it, while DH and I enjoyed the rest of the party. SHE was the one fighting for me. Had she not been there, I would have either been the one trying to hash things out.
A Bridal Attendant you do not meet until that day. He/She is the one who gets you your drinks/food and says 'Are you ok?' 'Do you need a drink?' etc. He/She is also the one who carries your dress/train while your'e walking around taking pics or at CH.
A Maitre D has the hall's best interests at heart where as a DOC has yours at heart.

Cassie, I didn't have one and my day went so smooth but if you have the extra money and want reassurance then do it. I really don't think it is necessary though. I planned everything myself and the entire day went sooooo smooth!!!

I am not having one b/c I think there is no real need, but it is a personal choice and also a financial extra. I f you can afford it then go for it.
