DOC..do you need?

Hi,
So I am not sure if I need one, but I think that it might put my mind at ease so I don't need to stress that day!
Does anyone have an quotes, not looking to spend that much.

I encourage you to get one! I want to be pampered and relaxed on my wedding day. I refuse to lift a finger or raise my voice! LOL My planner starts at $650 for her DOC services and she has lots of options. Check her out: www.samanthareneeweddings.com

Also, none of my family or friends will be working on my wedding day either! They are there to enjoy themselves and celebrate with us and I would not want them to do anything but have fun! That's why all my vendors are professionals and my planner will be there with her assistants to handle the day from start to finish!

Check out A Modern Day Affair. I booked Laura because I didn't want to be stressed

I didn't use one nor did I feel, in any time during the day, that I needed one! I think its a personal preference.

I live out of state and they have been so helpful so far. When I do come to town, I do not have time to see many vendors. My DOCs help me to narrow down before sitting down!

I booked A Modern Day Affair, it was much less expensive than I thought it would be...Def look into them.

I got one because I have a LOT of DIY projects and didn't mind shelling out the extra $$ for piece of mind and a little assurance that I'll be able enjoy the day fully.

We will not be using one. We haven't had an issue this far without one, and I'm not really nervous about the day of going smoothly. I haven't been to a wedding recently where they had a DOC and they were fine without one! I'd rather put my expenses into my photo and video!! Absolutely nothing against ladies who do use a DOC.

We booked Cheeky Glam and we are both so glad we did. Put our mind at ease.

I didn't use one either, and did not at any point during the planning or the wedding day feel that I needed one. I did have some experience planning events, etc. in my job, though, so I didn't feel like I was over my head. (And, I had very capable family/MOH to handle any minor things that came up during the day.)

But, if you have the extra money and it makes you happy and less stressed to have one, go for it!

I used one and I am telling you as much as I was a DIY junkie and a control freak about decision making, my DOC was a lifesaver and stress reliever. She was there from the moment I hired her and even though I didn't use her as a planner she answered every question, gave me unlimited referrals, advice and creative ideas. On the day of she and her assistant were not only extremely helpful but sweet and made my day more enjoyable than I could imagine. She really did things I never would have thought to do.. DOC ALL THE WAY. Check out mine, Lindsey from Elite Glamour Events... She works with budgets and customizes all packages... Call her

Isn't it really your hall and vendors who are suppose to make sure things go okay. The hall will take care of food and tell you where to go when to go. Then the rest of your vendors like flowers and dj and photography will do their job. I feel it really isnt necessary to have one.

My DOC is doing so much before the day of and on the day. From pre-ceremony to post-reception. Your venue is working for the venue and not you. They are going to do what's in their best interest, whereas your DOC makes sure things go right for you. Your DOC is the liaison between you and your vendors. Really, I'm not trying to answer any questions about 'what goes where', 'where do I set up', 'what time should we begin', because my DOC has ALL of that covered! She knows exactly what to do, what goes where, etc. Do you really want your venue staff coming to you every 20 minutes asking you something or having to talk to each vendor who arrives, while you are trying to get ready? That day is about us and we're going to relax and enjoy ourselves. I refuse to do anything, which is one of the luxuries of having a planner/DOC. I went to wedding where the cake was late arriving and the bride was freaking out and her venue coordinator told her, it wasn't their problem. 0_o Not saying all venues are like that, but I'd rather have someone there who is looking out for me.

You don't need it. My wedding was smack dab in the school year. If you are organized, you will be fine. So unnecessary, that's what the maitre De is for!

I don't plan on using one- I am a perfectionist and control freak and may have a hard time letting go and giving someone else control.

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE WITH THIS.

I have a great DOC and I know she will be there for me. For you ladies who are worried about budget or affordability, trust me on this. Contact my DOC! She is VERY low priced but comes extremely well recommended.

Re: DOC..do you need?

Coordinator's don't take control from you. Everything is your choice and they act in your best interest. I think this is a common misconception about planners.
