DOCS

I know this has been asked four thousand times - sorry girls -
But what exactly are they doing and whoever used one - do you feel its essential??
Still trying to figure out if I should get one?

Thanks!!

Re: DOCS

honestly, it's a personal decision. I felt I needed one because I am a very stressed person and really need someone there to worry for me. There are plenty of girls here who don't find it necessary b/c there RH provides them with someone or whatever other reasons. It really depends on you

Re: DOCS

i always thought hands down i dont need/want a DOC, now I am almost 2 months to the wedding date and i decided to hire one.

i want someone to 'be me' that day. to be the go-to person for all my vendors, to make sure everythign is set up right, to tell people what to do lol. and i just want to enjoy my wedding day without having to worry.

basically for me, it is buying peace of mind

That is what I'm thinking. Did you make any decisions on who yet?

i've met with 2 already and they are both so nice! i'm meeting my 3rd and final on on saturday so by then I should be able to decide!!

i'm not telling anyone in my family that i hired a DOC, because i'm a little embarrassed by it
i'll jsut tell people the mornng of if there is an issue, go to her.
(obviously i'm telling vendors)

LOL - I know I feel like my mom would be insulted like its her job to make sure everything goes well.
Which is exactly what I'm worried about - my mom running around.

Re: DOCS

i found it to be very helpful

before the wedding date they will meet with you to get all the info you need. My DOC would email me asking me if i needed help with anything beforehand so they can help you also beforehand to get things done and help you with info.

Honestly, the day of i didnt want to deal with anything at all, no stress and didnt want to handle any problems myself in case anything came up. If a vendor messed up, was late or any situation, why should you deal with it, you should just enjoy your day. They take care of anything. I also didnt want my family or friends to have to run around doing things for me, they should enjoy the day too and not handle any problems or making sure everything is running smoothly.

My DOC was amazing and made sure things ran smoothly. She got to my house in the morning, she even called me before she got to my house to ask if i needed anything for her to pick up or get for me first. She also left for the church earlier to make sure everything was fine, it was good bc DH forgot to take the RB pillow the day before so she brought that to the church, she also took the kissing ball for the FG that she carried bc they delivered all personal flowers to my house, and also she took MIL's bok and Dh's grandmothers bok since they were all at my house. She had a list of all my flowers so she made sure everything was delivered and right, she went to help the guys put on bout's. She was great bc she also took all the bm's purses so they wouldnt have to worry about it, and even asked FMIL. Even my overnight bag she had taken from my house so i wouldnt have to worry about it and when we got to the bridal suite all our things were already there.

There was also an incident that day, right after the ceremony my cousin who was a BM got a phonecall that her bf was in a car accident and ran off the bus. None of us knew what really happened or where she went bc she just ran off. My Doc had called the videographer to ask where we were and she showed up with my cousin and her bf, i guess she went with my cousin to get her bf, luckily i guess it was only a fender bender or something but nothing serious. She brought my cousin to where we were taking pics.

At the RH she made sure the room was all set up properly, she went over the schedule with the RH. She also stood by where people picked up their place cards and had the table arrangements in case there were any problems. Luckily she did bc there were guests who didnt know where they were sitting so she helped them. There was this one couple who didnt know where they were sitting, DH put the wrong last name, dont ask lol so she came to me in the bridal suite so i can answer this for her quickly. Thank god so ppl didnt stand around like idiots lol.

Luckily i didnt have any problems with vendors, all my vendors were amazing that day and everything went smoothly as far as vendors go. Unfortunately thats not always the case, sometimes they are late, sometimes they deliver the wrong things or theres some sort of problem. You dont want to be the one stressed out trying to handle the problem

Ill also say that from a week ahead of time she did a timeline for me and it was amazing. I mean down to the minute she had everything planned out. She is the one who told me what time i should start getting my hair done, and also MOH and my mom and in what order, bc of this i was able to tell my vendors what time to get here and i went by DOC's advice. She said me to get hair first, while Mom gets make up, then my mom with hair while MOH got make up and i just relaxed, then moh hair and me make up. She even wrote what time i should start getting dressed, how long for pictures, and just every little detail. My day was so relaxing and calm, even people at my house said they were never in a house with the bride about to get married and seen it so calm. There were times that morning that i just stood around doing nothing. I would even walk around thinking ok what should i do lol

I didnt worry about a thing or think about it, when i was asked questions i said i dont know my DOC is handling that its ok

Re: DOCS

I just started working with my DOC and already feel better. I handed over all of the contact info for the vendors and am unusually calm right now!
