doctor vent...

doctor vent...

FH and I were discussing when we move out. We are looking is the in an area which is closer to where he is living now. He asked me if i would be changing all my doctors to the same one he has when we move out there and seemed to get annoyed when I said I didn't think I would right away. He thinks its pointless to drive 25 mins to go to a doctor, but I am so comfortable with all my doctors that I don't want to change them. he wants me to go to his doctors since they are closer. He said if it was the other way around he would switch, but I dont think he really cares about any of the doctors he goes to. I would never change my gyno, and my dentist is her brother (weird I know lol) and I trust them both so much. They are also all close to my parents house so I could always turn a doctors visits into a parents visit too. It just kills me that he thinks it would be so easy to do this because he doesnt have to. Would you ladies change your doctors? thanks for letting me vent.

hey! honestly I think you should stick to your doctors it is always harder for a girl (without being sexist) to adjust to another doctor. IMHO i really think you should stick to your doctors if you are really comfortable with. Fh's SIL lives upstate in brewster that is 1 hour away from the city and she still goes to the same doctors she used to go even before she got married because she is comfortable with them. Think about it!!! if you trust them stick with them!! good luck!!

I say stick with your doctors. Good medical care that you trust is extremely important.

I would definitely stick with your doctors. It would make your life easier. If it were me, I wouldn't change for anything! My grandpa used to get his haircut in the city (1.5 hr drive) because it was his barber!!! So it's not out of the question to travel 1/3 of that time for something as important as a doctor!

I agree, stick with your own doctors!

I would never switch mine, even if I move farther away. It is so hard to find good doctors that you feel comfortable with. Don't switch them up now!

I have moved around a lot in last 5 years. Levittown to Merrick to Franklin Square to Bellmore to Massapequa. My doc are in Bellmore, Valley Stream, Massapequa. Some were a hike depending on where I was only change 2 doctors in that time and that was just because one closed their practice and I didn't like the other one. I am happy with who I have even the one I have in Oceanside which is an ex's doctor too. Go where you feel comfortable.

I think you should definitely keep your doctor! I don't understand why your FH is making a big deal about what doctor you do to, that seems silly and a bit ridiculous IMO. Going to a doctor that you are comfortable with is something extremely important.

I don't see why it's really a big deal. 25 minutes isn't THAT long. I just moved from NY to NJ, and I got new doctors, but only because I didn't love any of mine. If you love your doctors, you should keep them!

how often do u go to ur doctors that this is even an issue?( u dont need to answer that) but u knwo what i mean? if u go like once a yr or whatever then there really isnt a need to argue..

also, why does he even care? hes not the 1 driving..u are.

i dont know... in my opinion it seems like this is an unecessary argument.

he is ur husband not ur owner, see the doctors U want to see.

Stick with your doctors....its so hard finding another doctor, especially finding another gyno you trust.....when we moved out of state, that was my most difficult task....while 4 denists later, I finally found a great denist, 30mins from my house. And I got lucky with my gyno, first guy I tried. But definitely stick with them, 25mins is not a far drive!

I wouldnt change if you are comfortable with them. I drive at least 25 min to get to my dr b/c someone recommended her. I would travel more than that if it was someone I really felt comfortable with

Def. stick w/ your doctors.....I really don't see it being a big deal, and plus your comfort is what matters most here. It would be very hard for me to switch mine and honestly I wouldn't switch. Stick to who you know.

i agree with you wanting to stay with your drs.. 25mins isnt horrible.. i have to travel that far now to see drs i've been seeing for years!!

i understand if it was for insurance reasons or something.. but if you don't mind the commute, continue with who youre comfortable with

I stay stick with you you are comfortable with. New, good, doctors are hard to find. Besides that commute (in my opinion) isn't that bad at all, it takes me 4x longer to get to work and that's 5x a week!

I would stick with your doctors. Its really hard to find a doctor that you like and feel comfortable (well for me). I have been living with FH for while and I kept my dentist a doctor from where I grew up which is about 45 minutes away.
