If a 40 year old woman was to marry a 70 year old man...would you see something wrong with this?
Who am I to say what is wrong and what is right. If 2 people are inlove, why should age play a factor? Age is just a number if you are happy inlove. JMO

Re: Does age matter?
I should clarify that I don't believe a 16 year old knows what love is, so in the case of a teenager dating a 30 something year old...that is something entirely different.

Re: Does age matter?
Are you talking about the Walmart couple??
I think it does but it depends on if it is a first or second wedding... etc.
My parents are ten years apart and it never made a difference till lately. My dad is all set to retire and do nothing now, my mom is only in her 50's and loves staying busy. So, only now after 30 years are they seeing the differences.
I also think that there are tons of people who do not look there age and that also makes it harder. I have seen plenty of men who are in their 60's look like they should be in there 30's or 40's and I have seen some women who are the same as well as vice versa... so unless you are meeting people and asking their birthdays then it is hard to judge and they may be in love by time they know.

If Legal, wahtever floats your boat. As long as the couple thinks ahead to when the older one will get VERY old... What will be the consequesnce and effect on thier releationship.

Re: Does age matter?
Matt and I are 7 years apart to the day and it has never made a difference. If something were to happen, I would probably date someone in that same age range.
Age is only a number. You are as young or old as you feel.

So long as it's legal...and it's not a case of gold-digging...then whatever floats your boat.

to each their own, but after a certain amount of years what do you have in common, how much can you talk about and agree on views with, change in times, music, etc. No way can I be with someone my fathers age. Plus the idea of him dying before me when I'm still 'young',,,,would sad me.

Re: Does age matter?
I don't think it really matters, as long as it's legal.
I wouldn't usually date someone younger, but I always had the '10 year rule'...I'd date someone 10 years older.

Re: Does age matter?
Before dating my FI (who is 15 months older than me), the last three men I dated were 9-12 years older than me.

Re: Does age matter?
I think it depends on the people involved. Some people are young at heart which transcends their age and they have the spirit of someone much younger. The reverse is possible too.
