that are so out of touch with what weddings are like now that they question every little thing you do? Or remark about Or they make comments about the small details of your wedding? It get's me so annoyed- 'What's a Save the Date?' 'How silly is that- what is the point.' etc. 'You're having your make-up done? Why? You do your make-up just fine yourself- oh and why do they have to go to your house?' Sometimes I feel like I may have no hair left by the time the wedding comes, because I will have pulled it out from aggravation by then (Will save me money on a hair person I suppose!)

well i have my parents comparing my 200 guest Italian blowout of a wedding with their 50 guest afternoon party.
I get all the comments about wasting money and such....its not that were going crazy but my Fiance's family is huge and they dont understand why everyone has to be invited.
At least she understands the save the date purpose- our wedding is the day after thanksgiving so we need em.
Just hang in there and you could always buy them a wedding etiquette book for them to see that its usually done that way

Well, if people are from out of state, or not from Long Island, there are a lot of things that are normal for LI weddings, that are unheard of elsewhere..... or if the people were married 30 years ago, things have changed a lot - there are a lot more options for everyone... dont' let it get to you - remember that it's your wedding - and they have no idea what they're talking about! oh, and it's a good idea to have your make-up done so that the pictures come out well.....tell them that when they question your makeup artist!

My mother! It's been almost 35 years since her own wedding and she hasn't even looked into any weddings since that day, lol. She questions anything and everything. It gets annoying.

YES. I definately have family member like that . I don't bother telling many details really..it just keeps things nice and quiet that way
