I just found out my neighbor doesn't because he was putting a new antenna on his roof! I thought this was a little strange considering he spends a lot of time at home and he has a good job.

Re: Does anybody not have Cable?
We just moved into our new home and the people who lived there before us had no TV/Cable.
The husband is a conductor so they listen to a lot of classical music...they just said they didn't like TV.
The cable company was at our place DAY 1 hooking up our cable wires! We didn't think we could live there a day without TV!

Re: Does anybody not have Cable?
My dad doesn't - never has and swears he never will. He's mostly home all day - retired, but he says he just doesn't care enough about watching anything. Ir's usually on, but he'll be reading or doing crosswords. The reception was really great growing up (though sad to be the only kids w/o cable ) but after 9-11 it's not that good anymore. some channels crystal clear, others - not so much.

We haven't had cable for about 4 years. And we don't feel like we're missing anything.

Re: Does anybody not have Cable?
If you have a good Over the Air antenna.... you can get all your local stations for free (not using cable). If you buy a Hi-Definition over the air receiver (you can get them cheap on ebay)... you can even get some of the stations in HI-DEFINITION (for free as well).
One thing you can get using OTA in Hi-Def that you can't get with cable currently is WB11-HD.

Re: Does anybody not have Cable?
FMIL doesn't... they used to, but got into a fight w/ cablevision over a box that cablevision said they had, but fmil didn't have...
so she cancelled it. That was nearly 5 years ago.
She also cancelled AOL... and wonders why FH doesn't want to spend a month at home w/o cable, and w/o internet
