get overwhelmed with the wedding planning that they are considering eloping in Vegas or something?? Sometimes I feel like it would be so much easier, but deep down I know I would regret not having the whole party celebration. Wedding planning is a lot harder then i though it would be.

Re: Does anyone...
I seriously considered it, somewhere warm and tropical! But then my older relatives, especially grandma and grandpa wouldn't be able to go and I know how much it means to them. So in the end, the overpriced LI wedding won out

Oh trust me. FH and i have this conversation alllll the time. we are going to vegas in November and it would cut out a lot of stress if we just did it there. Although i agree i can't see myself not having all my relatives, especially grandparents there, so the expensive big party is the way we're going.

Re: Does anyone...
I totally sympathize....We were going to have our wedding here but then realized how much it is going to cost us Then we decided to do a destination wedding in Jamaica. It was still going to add up to quite a bit and then our family and friends started voicing there opinions about how much it will cost them. Most of them do not have extra money to spend on vacations. We also realized that FH's grandma and grandpa wouldn't be able to attend. Sooo, we decided to have the wedding here. We booked an affordable reception hall and have been able to find reasonably priced vendors. We're also only inviting about 60 guests to keep costs down. Good luck with your planning!

i'm so glad to know i'm not the only one who feels like this. FH and I would love to have a destination wedding, but like some of you said most family members cant afford it. I guess the expensive wedding wins at the end. I'm so going to have to do alot of DIY stuff-probably everything. lol

Re: Does anyone...
I always wanted to just go down to town hall or go to an island or something and just have our parents and one or two close friends. When we got engaged that was the plan but then my dad told me that he has been saving for my wedding since I was born and that changed everything. Although I do have to say that we are trying to keep the costs down... we are only inviting 100 people and I am not having a ton of flowers and that sort of thing...

Another thing that ***** about this site is that you get the feeling that you should be spending all this money on the wedding and having a 10k HM and all that.... I have no patience for DIY so i will jus go cheap on invites and flowers and all the other things that dont matter much IMO at least

Re: Does anyone...
i know!!! When i got engaged and looked up invitations i almost fell of the chair when i saw how expensive most of them were. I dont want to spend 300$ on invitations everyone will prob. throw out anyway. I'm going to try and make my own for under 100$ It'll probably drive me crazy.

To be honest no. I have waited so long for this, I'll be 33 next month. I know we are going to have to scrimp and save but, it'll be worth it. I have just learned where to cut corners and where not to. Plus me doing it by myself is less stressful. I know that sounds crazy but, the more people that help the more complicated it gets. What me change my mind in a few months,

I feel the same way. I am so excited to have a wedding to plan! I feel like the only thing that possibly could stress me out is money but then I think, it's only money and I'll have more of it later.

Re: Does anyone...
I feel like that all the time, especially when so many girls on here have booked everything and I only have my RH. I wish I could do Vegas but I have a very big family and they would get pissed off cause I am the baby of the family
