Re: does anyone combine WW and Atkins?
i dont weigh in, but i will try to follow the WW diet as much as i can.. and only eating protein. it's hard though! iknow you can probably lose quicker and more if you combine the diets, but the WW portions can be almost child-like! esp when it comes to meats...

Re: does anyone combine WW and Atkins?
i try to stay within my WW points range while eating as few carbs as possible. i find that is works nicely with WW (ie - a bagel has a ton of carbs and is a ton of points as compared to toast).
good luck!!!

Truthfully, I do not know HOW a person could combine these two diets...you cannot cut SO MUCH fat AND SO MUCH carbs out of your diet...you might as well starve!
WW is too focused on calories/fat and Atkins is all about the carbs (flour, sugar, etc) I think if you tried to combine them, you'd lose your mind BEFORE you lost any weight.
This is all just my opinion, of course. I'm sure someone out there has been successful at it.

Re: does anyone combine WW and Atkins?
Sorry - I meant if there was someone was doing Atkins but instead of eating a whole steak for dinner was eating their WW points worth and no carbs, per the Atkins way.
It was something I was toying with since I need the support of the WW meetings but I wnat a jump start on the diet since I have 7 months and I haven't lost anything.

I think it would be very difficult, if not impossible to do eat enough protein to be full and stay within your point range. A 4 oz serving of steak is 7 points. That's a whopper burger size piece of meat. You could probably get further with leaner meats like chicken and you can eat salads and veggies as long as you watch the # of carbs.
In the past - I followed atkins in real life but went to WW meetings for weigh-ins and support. I needed the accountability of weighing in each week and received so much from the meetings that helpted to keep me motivated.
I kept my mouth shut during the meetings when they spoke about what they were eating and sorted of 'sugar coated' the times I had to say something in front of everyone (when I got the 10%) and said I drank more water and was really working on making it a lifestyle choice and experiment with recipes etc. All true, but I also wasn't hungry all the time like I was with points.
