I am thinking of making a scrapbook of my wedding proofs and probably my cards. I am interested in books or good sites that would give me some ideas. I checked out some books, but they didn't have nice elegant ideas that I am looking for.

Re: Does anyone do scrapbooking?
I am taking a class for this for the very same reason.
twopeasinabucket.com has thousands of sample pages and they have a message board for tips and help. and store.
There is store called scrapbook alley out in islip that has lots of papers, letters and die cuts. Michaels has lots of supplies also.

Re: Does anyone do scrapbooking?
Natasha, I just did one for the first time with our honeymoon pictures and it came out great. My mom had bought me several years ago a starter package with the necessary stuff (album, coverings for pages, tape to stick down phtos, a pen, some frames, a funky scissor, etc) but I went to Michael's and went nuts with stickers and more frames and cool papers. I was looking for a website to show you how but never found anything, I just kind of winged it and it came out well if I do say so myself. Let me know if you need any help!

Re: Does anyone do scrapbooking?
Thank you ladies for responding.
Alina:
I am new to this, so I am looking around for ideas. I went Micheals and I see that they have quite a few products. However, I don't want to go crazy and buy unnecessary stuff.
Christine:
Thanks for site info. I will check it out.
Stacedz:
Unless I find a class, I think I will just have to wing it. I will let you know how it comes out.

Re: Does anyone do scrapbooking?
Natasha I have looked into scrapbook style photo albums with black pages, b/c I originally planned to make my own photo album. After we saw Lia's albums from Imagine Studios, we have decided to make a scrapbook album for us with proofs, and one real 5x7 photo album (with photo corners) for each set of the parents...
For each of these, I only plan to affix photos with photo corners, and don't plan to use any funky scissors/pens/etc, so in that sense it wont be a scrapbook.
So I have done research on scrapbooking albums.
Below are the links that I found:
www.flaxart.com www.mollywest.com www.kolo.com - fabric albums with a window for picture on the top. www.daisyarts.com - the most expensive www.kozoarts.com - which btw is carried by the claypot in parkslope. http://www.handmadegifts.org - the cheapest, but it looks like the paper quality is ok from the pictures
There is also a thread on the Newlywed board that I just bumped for you, about storing the proofs.
I still haven't found the 'it' album' but a lady at Lee's Art Supply on 57th st. in Manhattan is researching cover designs for me and may customize the set of 3 albums.
Also, there is a vendor who sells scrapbooks on the vendor board.

Thanks for the bump. Right now I have the proofs in two albums from Party City. But it is so boring, that is reason I am thinking about creating a scrap book.

Re: Does anyone do scrapbooking?
I alos am into scrapbooking. I made my husband a scrapbook all about us and gave it to him at our rehersal dinner, It certanily was a hit. I have not done too much since we got married because there were so many other things going on. Now that we bought a house...welll the scrapbooking stuff is still packed away...but the best part of the house is that I have a room that is going to be just for my crafts!!! I cant wait.
If you are looking to find others on Long Island that are into scrapping...there is a group on Yahoo called NYSEScrappers. there are so many woman on LI into scrapping. There are 4 stores on LI. One in Rocky Point, another in Setaucket, one in Farminville and another in East Islip. You can check with the Yahoo group for directions and hours.
Please let me know if you want any more information.
Good Luck Lisa

Re: Does anyone do scrapbooking?
Christine...would you believe it was a BIG selling point for me on the house!!!
My husband thought I was nuts but I was tired of having all my craft stuff in out bedroom!! My mom also into scrapping and her and I will share the room...I have so many pieces of equipment that I used for scrapping that I hope we have enought room!!
I have a die cut machine....400 punches...more paper than you can ever imagine...3 types of Xyrons (which is a machine that you run your paper or punches through and it puts 'glue' on the backside) which is one thing I can not do without!!
I also love to make cards....and I used my scrapping stuff for that too!! I also have some rubber stamps.

Re: Does anyone do scrapbooking?
Lisa Rose, it would be for me also. I have so much craft stuff in general and it's such a pain to pull it all out to work on and it makes DH crazy when I leave it out.
I just started scrapping so I don't have too much stuff - yet
The xyron sounds cool, i have seen it in Michaels but was never too sure what it did.
