Someone asked me the other day if I was nervous about my wedding now that it's so close. I can't really say that I am, but I have this energy bustling up inside of me. It feels like nervous energy, but yet I'm not nervous. Does this make any sense?
It all started when the invitations came in and has just seemed to snowball. It's not a bad feeling, just strange.
Everything is coming together now, I have my first dress fitting on Saturday, I know my shower is Sunday (how can it not be... my mother AND grandmother from Florida are coming just for the weekend? hmmm..suspicious!) the RSVPs are rolling in. It's REAL, it's HERE! Yet it seems so surreal.
Anyway, not sure I'm really making any sense, but just needed to get that off my chest.
Thanks!

I know exactly what you mean. People ask me all the time are you nervous, and I am really not. Just excited and anxious.

Re: Does anyone else feel this way?
I wasn't nervous at all leading up to our wedding, which is weird because I tend to obsess and worry about everything. I was remarkably calm, even right before the ceremony. I think DH was more nervous than I was!

I get people all the time asking me if I'm excited...I'm really not. It's getting to be more of a job and I cannot focus on the actual enjoyment of marrying the man of my dreams. I wish there was a moment for me to sit with him and just 'be'.

I know what you mean. It's so surreal. It's almost like its been a fantasy in my head for so long, I can't really wrap my head around the fact that it is being a reality in 2 weeks!!

I couldn't have said it better. after the invites went out, the reality of it all started to set in.
since that time, I have been doing little else but thinking of my wedding and doing wedding-related things.
And people have also started to ask me the same thing... if I am getting nervous. honestly, yes, I am. but it is definitely a GOOD nervous.
enjoy the excitement now while you can, it will be over before we all know it.

EXACTLY!!! Sometimes FH looks at me like I'm a complete wacko when I say I just want to 'us' again for a day or a weekend. Sometimes I miss that, but at the same time, I'm so excited to be his wife!
I told him the next 6 weeks are going to be nuts and that he should enjoy his 'day off' Sunday while I'm at my shower. (even though he won't confirm that Sunday IS my shower!)
Thanks for validating my feelings ladies, I thought it was just me!!!

OMG!! I know exactly how you feel! I feel like I have all this energy inside of my bustling too, but yet at the same time I am exhausted! I feel like I am on a treadmill and I can't get off. I am constantly running! I am trying to do my best to enjoy this time but I find myself wishing it to just be over so I can have my regular routine back. I'm kind of a perfectionist and I want to do everything myself so it gets done right, its BAD. And when the wedding is over, I'll wish it wasn't. You can't win? I just wish I could experience this all with out that feeling of anxious energy. Urghh! At least I'm not the only one feeling this way.

This is EXACTLY my problem too. I have people coming out of the woodwork offering their help, and I keep coming up with excuses why I can't take them up on it. I let my FFIL do all my envelopes for the invites and was soooooooooo anxious while he was doing them!
FH had told me while we (umm, I mean I) was preparing the invitations that he missed ME, that I was definately not myself.

OMG!!! Me too! Finally...I think I'm caving in on one of my final projects... My LeafGirl dress. My Cousins are wonderful with a needle and thread...I'm passing the buck on one thing! What a relief!

I am working on these wreaths for the pews of the church which I saw in Martha Stewart Weddings, which are taking my mom and I FOREVER! I was going to do some more DIY projects, but being that I haven't even finished those yet... I'm like forget it! We are doing with out! I would rather not be stressed out then to have some cute detail that people will be like how nice for two seconds and then move on. It's not worth it! At some point you have to say enough is enough.

I know this sounds crazy, but I almost don't want it to come....because then what? I am like Monica on Friends, she was so upset when she got married that it was over and now all she was was a miserable wife!!!
Just kidding about the miserable wife thing, but not about being sad when it's over, I kinda like the attention, I won't lie.

You're not alone, I feel the same way and it's funny because I started feeling like this the day the invitations went out...it's so surreal but yet such an AWESOME feeling...it feels SO AMAZING to know I am going to be the wife of a WONDERFUL man I've shared 6 AMAZING years with. Now, I get to spend the rest of my life with him. I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean! I am just nervous, not about getting married, not about the wedding, jus have a lot on my mind.
Actually, I am not doing ANYTHING. I am sitting around, waiting for things to do. But, I don't want the time to come closer and then be stressed with a million things to do.

I too have a mix of crazy emotions.. sometimes I have that ball of energy that is nerves and excitement all at once.. then Ilook at ths calendar to try and figure out when there is time to do stuff and I smile but a nervouse smile because ther eis no time left which means I will be a bride soon.. So much left to do, but as long as my fh and I look good I do not care what else goes on.. I too would love my alone time w/ my fh but wehave to pay the bils so ocassionally we see each other, we actually have a wedding on the 15th so we will have some fun alone time , if I can concentrate n someone elses wedding..lol

Have fun! We went to a wedding two weeks ago, and I found myself doing the following
picturing ME walking down the aisle as I watched the bride come down (of course I was a blubbering idiot!) and imagining my day, totally NOT focusing on the wedding I was at.
During the reception and cocktail hour, I was making mental notes of what I would do differently than she did, and noticing things that would be great for our wedding!
I was there in body, but not in mind! And I'm TRYING to take everything in, because I know I will never be a bride again, and I want to remember everything!
Sometimes I feel like I'm just a crazy nutty bride!
