when others feel it's their business to know how much money you and FH have and how you will be spending it? I am not just talking like parents...I am talking about people who really have no business asking. I don't know why but it drives me insane! They look for an explaination of our financial 'plan' like we have to prove something to someone and it makes me MAD!
Maybe I am just a hot-head.

no I completely understand.. I hate it when friends ask or when my finace's family asks ( especially since we are paying for all of it)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! I am not the only one. You know, I think it's rude for them to ask. Again, me being a hot-head, I know . I just feel like I shouldn't have to owe someone an explaination if I am not asking them for money. When I come to you for money to pay my rent, then you may know what I do and do not have, but until then...worry about yourself.

Ugh, yes!!!!
I just sent something to my parents and FILs about something I wanted to use at the wedding, and my father's response was 'wow, you guys must have a lot of money to throw around if you want to get that!!'
Ugh, considering we're pretty much paying for everything ourselves, should it matter?? I only asked for an opinion, not a statement about our financial plans!!!

I don't mind so much telling people what I am paying for the wedding, it's just it gets on my nerves when people demand an explaination about where we are going to live, how do we expect to afford this and that, how much FH has for an apartment, things like that. I freely talk about money to some people I am close with, but out of the blue random people ask me that and demand explainations. I just want to say 'WE ARE TAKING CARE OF IT'

that I can relate to that- people who don't really know us have made comments about our cars and the type of house we are planning on buying- telling me what the mortage payment is going to be- as if I don't know I am marrying a Mortgage Banker - I think he knows what we can afford!!!!

We get this a lot too. Jealousy is an ugly thing! It brings out the best in people! Screw them!!!
