No. I actually enjoy when Chris leaves for business...I get the apartment to myself and some serious 'me' time. Don't get me wrong, I miss him - we talk while he's away - but I really enjoy the time when he's gone.
You'll be ok...I'm sure the time will go by quickly and before you know it, you'll be home.

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
not anymore.... especially since FH lives 3-1/2 hours from me. the first few days of living apart were rough, but now, after almost 2 years, i am used to it. but i can see how if you are always together, the idea of not seeing him for a whole weekend can be rough. try to plan some girls-only things - have a slumber party with your girlfriends, go out for dinner and a movie with friends/family, or enjoy the time by yourself. take a bubble bath, give yourself a manicure and pedicure, rent a girly movie. think of it as a weekend where you can be as selfish as you wanna be!

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
FH went on a business trip to England just recently for almost 2 weeks and I freaked out. I couldn't stand him being so far away and for so long. I cried almost every night. It was terrible! I felt like such a baby! I've NEVER been clingy in my life, so I don't know what came over me. He's going to be doing some more long trips in the future and I'm not looking forward to it!

Sorry, can't relate.
I spend alot of time with FH, but I do look forward to our time apart. It is very healthy to have this.
You cannot be around someone so much, it will drive you crazy.

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
I like it when FH goes out w/friends, plays softball, or goes out to his families on the weekend. It doesn't happen that often, and I wouldn't want him gone all the time:) but once in a while is good.
I'm going to visit my family for 1 1/2 weeks without him in 2 weeks (we're taking a 3 week honeymoon and he only gets 3 1/2 wks. vacation so he can't take that much time off). I'm also considering a 6 month volunteer stint out of the country starting next January (that will be hard, but it'll be fine).
Think of it as time to do things for only you. Give yourself a facial, read a book, eat ice cream, go out for coffee with a friend, go hiking. Have fun! It's healthy for a little separation, you'll get used to it and begin to appreciate it:)

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
I love my alone time....Me and FH are together all the time, so when I do get a few days away it is a nice break and it makes me realize how much I love being with him.
It's nice to remember what it's like to miss him....

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
Although I cannot relate (I enjoy time alone), what you are feeling is normal. You sound like me...worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. GO...HAVE FUN! Enjoy yourself and don't worry! If you find it that hard...then just leave.

Oops, Your right, for some reason I had it in my mind that HE was going out of town. SORRY! I hate it when people reply to my posts w/out really reading them, and I just did it You might meet some really nice people at the seminar, I go out of town for work sometimes and always meet nice people. Plus, in the city there's lots to do. You can always grab one of us city girls for coffee too!

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
I go through it all the time. Even when I'm the one leaving to do something fun, I feel torn. I generally just go anyway, because I know it will be fine. I like to think it's normal
My DH now travels for work quite a bit, so I have to deal with it pretty regularly these days. I do enjoy the days to myself, and make the most of them. Usually a home improvement project to keep me busy. I find I have a harder time leaving than being left, which doesn't make sense to me.......Italian guilt maybe???? Wait until there are kids involved!!! I'm doomed!!

Nope!! DH goes out of town for work all the time (in fact he's away right now, for 2 weeks). I enjoy the time by myself and it lets us miss each other and not take each other for granted.
Use this time to focus on yourself.

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
I can relate in that I hate being away from my home for even one night. I like to sleep in my own bed. However, we have had many seperations:
I went to study in Costa Rica for 6 weeks I went to FL in March for a funeral for 5 days I was house sitting for my mom for 1 week.
So I have been without him before. Take the time to enjoy your time alone and try to meet new people and have fun.

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
I used to get like that when we first moved intogether, we did everything together and felt wierd doing things without him,I couldnt wait to get home. My friends gave me a hard time..but NOW..I cant wait to hve alone time. You will get to that point as well. I think its healthy . Give it some time and you will be thanking god for your alone time. Everytime my Fiance says hes working late, well not every time, but alot of the time..I am kind of happy. I lay on the couch and enjoy the quiet. Make the best of your seminar and enjoy the fact that you are still so excited to spend every moment with him.

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
For me, it all depends on where I am in my cycle! I usually enjoy being home alone (well, as alone as you can be with 3 cats!) but once in a while, if I am feeling moody or sad, I will miss him. He goes to school in the city once a week (will be more like 2 or 3 times a week once the Fall semester comes around) and so he stays in his parent's apartment. Sleeping is the worst, I am always cold in the bed without my honey. But it's nice sometimes too, because he doesn't let me read or watch TV in bed when he's home!
So, FutureMrsT, you are not crazy! I've been there!

Re: Does anyone else get like this?
My FH travels a lot for his job; usually 3 wks at a time. Actually he leaves tonight for 3 wks to train a course to staff in Heartford, CT. He is usually worse than me, gets sad and teary eyed. It is hard, but I have gotten use to it. Since he is so close this time, I am going to go visit him for 2 days at the hotel. We too see each other all the time, but do not live together so I guess that makes it a little easier. You will be okay!

Mine is going to Ireland for 10 days in July, and I'm getting excited to some 'me' time. I am even encouraging him to stay for two weeks!!

I feel like a big fat baby LOL
We do have our alone time, like Saturday I went and did wedding stuff with my Mom. But it's a long weekend that's why I'm freaking out. Maybe it's PMS
