Does anyone else hate their job?

Does anyone else hate their job?

I hate my job.... I was just wondering how many other people do also.

I was even thinking of totally switching careers, is that crazy? I have one year left on my contract (thats why I cant quit now), and I plan on quitting the next day.

I hate my job also and am considering other fields, I just have to wait to until FH and I get into a house to consider it. Lenders don't like when you switch professions.

Hang in there.

I can't say I hate it, though I am definitely not excited when Monday comes! I don't know if this is what I was 'meant to do,' but in the meantime it's not a bad way to pass the hours between 9 and 5...I could not stand my last job. Dreaded it, and it made me physically sick dealing with the stress of a job I couldn't stand. Leaving was the best thing I ever did, even though I took a large pay cut.

I actually like my job. But am looking forward to our plan of having kids in 3 years and me staying home to raise them :) Takes a lot of stress of being the superstar at work. Now...I'm like just give me my paycheck. But I do like where I work and what I do.

OOh you opened up an incredibly sore spot for me!

I hate my job, without a doubt, and dread mondays. I work as a legal assistant at a big lawfirm and hate it .. its not the WORK I hate (I loved doing the same job at my old firm), its just incredibly boring here.. very unfulfilling, and the work environment sucks.. everyone hates being here and their is such LOW morale..

Sometimes I see how much time I spend on here and it tells a story.. how else could be on here ALL DAY if I were othewise busy and/or happy with my workday! (not that I don't love y'all and would miss coming on here.. but you get my drift...)

Once our bills are under control (post wedding), DH and I have talked about it and I am totally bailing on this job and working in NYC. Right now I need the $$ badly , so I stick with it.. but its purely a monetary decision. I really need to find something that makes me happier .. I am going to make myself miserable if I remain like THIS

I do, I do! I dread Mondays and each day I need to be here. I like most of the people but hate what I do. I might like it better at another company but I need to wait before I can make a move since they are paying for my Masters.

I don't hate my job, however, I am working on a project now that I don't particularly like.

Also my boss is leaving and new one is coming in so I have a great deal of anxiety everytime I come to work b/c I don't know what to expect.

Re: Does anyone else hate their job?

Every Sunday night I get that sick feeling like when I was a kid and had a test the next day in school. I don't want to be here but I know I have to pay my mortgage. Reasons I am miserable:

1) workload - don't get me started I am 3 people in one with only 1 person's salary

2) commute - 1.5 hrs in the AM and back home again - and if I miss my train connection i am screwed. Hardly see my DH when I am home. Plus I hate manhattan now more than ever.

3) quality of life - i want to have a family therefore i'd like to be closer to home and eventually be a teacher so at least i'd be paying the bills but home at a decent time & summers. Plus I would like to teach rather than sit here at mind numbing corporate slave america.

ok i am done.

My job is ok, Im still new (I started 3 months ago). I hated my old job way more. I didnt hate the job, I hated where I worked. I taught Pre-K at a private school in Manhattan. Very Corporate, too overcrowded, incredible staff turnover. I stayed there a year, and over that year, 10 other teachers IN MY CLASS came and left. (there were 3 teachers to a class - since there were so many kids)

Im taking a break from teaching now, & am doing office work, which is an interesting change. Very small office, and my desk is right next to my boss's. And I like it so much better when she's not here, because she is a little insane. I just work differently than she does. Like, I hate it when she says 'drop what youre doing and come here and do this' while Im in the middle of doing HER paperwork.
oy vey.

That's totally how I feel. Especailly th part about beign onlien so much.
I think we are going to move first, before I quit though.

For me though, its not that I like t he work, but not the company, I have NO interst in marketing academic books. I don't know why I've been here 6 years. the pay is less then some fo my freinds started out with right after college.

A colleague who lives near me , just quit to work in White Plains. That doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Although, in my fantasies I'd like to do so some of work outdoors, or freelance or something.
