I have had a complex about my smile for years. I dont have the worst teeth in the world but they are not the best. I could spend 2800$ to have my porcelin veneers put on my front teeth to make them look perfect. I am afraid I am going to ruin our wedding pics. I really dont have that much money to spend on something like this, and my FH thinks I am crazy to consider it. What would you do? Do you all think it is worth the money?

Here are some pics to give you an idea of my smile situation. (I cant believe I am putting up pics, but I am really struggling with this decision). In the first pic I am on the right, in the second pic I am in the middle.
I have a Lauren Hutton type smile (same space, a little smaller), I am having bonding done in October, minus the veneers (spelled right?) I have had bonding before on anoher area without the veneers 8 years ago and they held up fine. However, I think your smile is fine! Your FH is marrying you for you!

Well said, Jenn !!!!! I agree, I don't see what's so wrong with your smile at all. I would be happy as is.
But in the end, you have to do what you feel. If it eats you up that bad, then I'm not going to say don't get the veneers. The last thing you want is for you to be stressing about your smile on your wedding day. But honestly, think about it, and do whatever makes you feel comfortable and like a princess on your day.

Christy, you have a lovely smile! I don't think you have anything to be concerned about. My FH doesn't like his teeth, so he tries to smile with his lips closed for pictures. It drives me nuts becuase I love his smile. Don't do anything to yourself. You look great and I bet your FH loves your smile as much as I love my FH's

Christy, I have felt the same way but I have come to realize that the stuff I immediately look at and critique, no one else sees, and that is the truth! I am not happy with my smile at all and in some pictures it looks OK and then on close ups I hate it, I will just have to be careful in pictures, I was lazy and did nothing about my teeth when I could have. Oh well!! Your wedding pics will look beautiful no matter what!

Hats off to you for being brave enough to post pictures and ask opinions of something that is a sensitive issue to you.
If the veneer and dental work will help you feel better/more confident in yourself, then go for it. If you are doing it for someone else, I'd reconsider.
I'm driving my FI crazy-I recently decided that I don't like the way I smile in pictures. And my nose looks a little crooked from a certain angle. And my hair is just unmanageable. And do I look like I've gained weight?? I've never had these 'issues' before-why now???

Christy - I think you look beautiful, I really do. I think all brides are beautiful, and you will be especially beautiful!!!!!!!! I have the same teeth issue (and ear issue, and skin issue, etc.)...I could kill myself for what I've done to my teeth. 2 years of braces, then skipping the retainer and fear of wisdom teeth removal has made my bottom teeth shift to the point where they are completely crooked, which has forced my front teeth to shift as well!! I have been 'practicing' my smile for pictures!! Wouldn't it be nice if we could all look in the mirror and just say 'Damn, I look good'

Your smile looks fine to me. I have a few things that I would 'get fixed', but like someone said, it's the little things that make you who you are.
