Does anyone else have this problem/Can anyone calm my nerves?
At the George Washington Manor, before you walk down the aisle, you have to walk down a rather large flight of stairs. I have a cathedral length train. I have a problem walking 2 feet without tripping on a regular day. I am so nervous about this. I was thinking of just making my entrace by sliding down the staircase on my butt. At least it would be something people would remember.

Good luck! It sounds so beautiful, but at the same time so nerve racking!

A friend of mine (also kind of klutzy) walked down a spiral staircase on a yacht before she walked down the aisle. She said that she took it slow and there was someone (out of view) on top of the stairs kind of holding her train. She made it down without incident.

I walked down the stairs for my entrance, too, and I was so nervous about tripping! Don't worry - you'll be fine. Just take your time - they're not going anywhere without you. It's also OK to lift your dress a little if you feel like it's in your way.

I know what you mean! FH and looked there too. The first thing I said was 'I hope I don't fall down that staircase' lol
don't worry... why don't you do a few practice runs. And someone will be walking you down right? so you always have that person to keep you steady

One of my BM was married there and walking down the stairs, she looked so beautiful. In fact, it is one of her favorite parts in her video. I think you will be fine.

glad too see you are feeling better about it. my BM got married there because she wanted to get married at her hall but still wanted the ceremony to have the look of being in a chapel. the whole wedding was very impressive!!

I was TERRIFIED of this at Raphael - it was a huge flight of cement stairs!! I had nightmares and got myself so worked up. I am exceptionally clumsy, so I was worried.
I actually practiced with my cathedral length veil the day of the wedding. That made me feel so much better.
I told my Dad I was scared, and he said, 'just take it slow! I'll be at the bottom waiting..'
Best Advice was just that: TAKE IT SLOW! You want to take it all in anyway and savor the moment.
You won't fall - your nerves will be so alert, your body will take care of you.
Don't worry - if I could be fine (I fell at Graduation going up to get my Diploma and my friends call me Queen Klutz!) you will be fine.

you'll be ok.....you know you will. It's normal to be nervous wiht something like that. I know I wouild be b/c I have two left feet. But you will make sure that you don't fall. Even if that means concentrating on every step down!!! Once ou make the last step you can exhale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
