does anyone else here just work, work, work, sleep, work work...

That is all I have done since December!!!! I am not kidding. I am going to have a nervous breakdown! I can't even take a lunch break, I have to sit at my desk and eat!

Anyone else going through this right now?

Sorry, I needed to vent!

My DH is like this. I feel so sorry for him sometimes. It's hard on both of us, actually.

In DH's case, what he's doing now will give us a better chance of stability in the future (not necessarily financially, but that isn't what's important to us). I hope it's the same for you.

Meeeee!!! I work 6 days/week. A FT job and a PT job. I commute about an hour and 15 minutes each way 5 days/week, so I'm more like drive, drive, work, work, work, drive, sleep, etc.....

I'm dropping the PT job for the summer so that will be a bit of a relief.

I am constantly overwhelmed at work. I have in the past worked through lunch so I could get some work done. I HATE doing it, but sometimes it is better for my sanity!!
I'm sorry you are going through this and hopefully soon there will be a light at the end of your work tunnel!

Yes! And it is very depressing

I feel like the time will never come where it will be different either, I'm a little scared. FI and I naver see each other, and when we do, we are too tired to even talk to each other!!!

I feel better knowing that ther are others in my boat.

My DH works more than me!!
He sleeps on his truck or sleeps at his moms about 3 days a week so he can get at least 4 hours sleep per night. I haven't seen him in 3 days!!

Well, its better than a low life who doesn't work and sits in front of the tv!!!

Thanks for the responses.

I've been doing basically nothing but working, with just enough sleep to get by for nearly 10 years!!! (Wow .. time flies).

I seriously need a break from this. And even when I do take days off .. it's never totally 'off' .. either I'm calling in .. or they're calling me.

Try to break the cycle as quickly as possible .. otherwise it will become a habit you can't break .. which is where I'm at .. though I wouldn't really call mine a habit .. at this point .. financially .. it's a necessity.

Re: does anyone else here just work, work, work, sleep, work work...

I just left a job (that I loved) but that meant I was just commuting, working, then a quick dinner and into bed, then on weekends I would spend about 5 hours catching up on email. So I did have some weekend time to myself, but even then I felt overwhelmed.

The only thing is, I left the job that I loved but made me feel tired all the time for a job where I have more normal hours but I hate my boss. So if I have any advice it would be to focus on what you like, b/c in some ways I'd rather have the hectic-but-love-the job than the nasty boss but good hours.

i took a major pay cut to a nicer, more low key environment to stop that insanity. Although pinching pennies is hard, it has been worth it for my sanity. I don't know what your situation is, but I have been there, and I know for me, i felt like I was just 'surviving' and not 'living.' Now I live.

Heres some .

Hang in there.
