I think Jordan is a lovely name!

I've always liked ambiguous names for a girl, for some reason.

Your dilemma may be telling you something...

We never came up with a single girl name (and we may have needed 2!) As I was being wheeled into the OR, I told my DH that if there was a girl in there her name was going to be BABY until she could pick her own.

we didn't have anythign picked either. and we knew it was a girl. the minute she was born i called her elsie...weird, right? But after we looked at her we decided on Sophia since it's such a romantic name and she's so feminine looking.

I still call her Elsie in private!!!

We pretty much have a boys name set-I think it will be Matthew Robert. Girls names on the other hand are tough-I like a lot of names:
Sophia
Julianna
Gianna
Gabriella
Victoria
(can you tell i'm Italian ) but so far DH isn't too keen on any of the girls names I picked so I guess we better have a boy or it will be called baby girl

I love Madison too but it doesn't fit well with our last name-our last name also ends in 'son'.

Let's see... I am officially due to have this baby in TWO days and we have no name for him. Just can't decide. We have a small list and I think we will just decide when we see him. I don't know, I just feel I can't give the little guy a name without even meeting him yet. There just isn't a boys name that I absolutely love. I am sure whatever we pick I will grow to love as the little guy becomes that name. Girls names were much easier for us -

Sue- I think a name will just come to you. Remember that Molly just popped into my head (and my heart) all of a sudden. I bet you just haven't found the 'right' one yet.

How about Katherine or Kathleen or Katrina. Oh, I love Kira and Kristen too.
You can keep the K first initial in honor of your BIL.

We're stuck on both. We love Connor for a boys name, but with our last name, the kid would be writing 'n' 's forever. We have several other boys names we like: Andrew, Thomas, Charles, etc.

Girls names are so hard because I am very old-fashioned and DH is very modern. He loves Morgan and I don't. I want Audrey. or Caroline. or Madeline. Hmmm, i'll have to try subliminal messages while he's sleeping.

I have this theory about this... whenever I've known someone who was pregnant but was unsure of a name for only one sex, they had a child of that sex!

So, if my theory holds, then you're going to have a and you don't need to pick a girl's name.

I do love the name Julianna though..

eroxgirl, I hate to shoot down your theory but in my case it would be wrong. When I was preggo with Lukie all we knew was if we had a boy it would be Luke John, we never agreed upon a girl's name. I had a boy so we never had to scramble for a girl's name. This time we still can't come up with a girl's name.

I think it's just easier for some people with one or the other, for us it is boys names.

We didn't know up until she was born... we named her the day after.
She was baby girl for 24 hours.

Our boy will be Kevin after my DH's brother who passed away. Our girl's name doesn't have to start with any certain letter. We just can't decide on anything definate yet so our list is still open for more choices.

When you were a little girl, what were some of your favorite names? How about some of your childhood friend's names? Maybe the name of your Cabbage PAtch kid? (Just kidding) just thinking of weird places to think of names.
