does anyone else think they won't be getting a bridal shower?
With my mom out of state, and my sister (MOH)also out of state, I have sort of resigned myself to the fact that I won't be getting a bridal shower (no bridal party past MOH either). Even FH has expressed concerns. Does anyone else feel this way?

what about his side. Many times when the bride doesnt have someone local who can do this for them, ive seen his side step up such as his mother or sister if he has one.

I don't think I'll be getting one. My mom flat out informed me that she isn't throwing me one so....there's that.

Yeah i am not sure whats going on in my camp.... My Matron of Honor( one of my older sisters) lives in spain... and one of my Maids of Honor- does not think think they should have to throw me one. FH's family- does not have a lot of money due to his older sister getting married around the same time we are.... so yeah...
I think I will be planning my own!

i had a similair situation - my mom and sister (who is only 17 anyway) live in florida....
i have 3 bridesmaids, my sister (once again she is only 17), my best friend, and my Matron of Honor - who is also my FSIL....
my FSIL took the lead in planning my shower and got help from my Mom and my best friend - the three of them did everything but it was mostly FSIL since my Mom wasnt here to physically help. My best friend also helped out my FSIL, even went to her house and helped wrap the favors - so it was def a combined effort between the 3 of them
my shower was amazing - i didnt think they would do what they did, or even be able to do what they did - but it turned out beautiful....i had almost 60 guests that day and got lots of gifts, the place was nice, the food was great, overall it was a really good time...
you never know, they might come through for you....its not easy planning from out of state but it def can be done!

I am in the same sitch, but my Mom and MOH (sister) are planning a joint bachlorette/shower in MI, where I am from and my college and high school friends still reside.
I am also flying home to a similar shower this weekend. The bride lives in NM, but her shower/bachlorette party is in MI. Instead of opening presents, we will be shipping them and we are coming up with a fun game for her to guess her gifts.
Maybe your mom can plan something similar?

well why dont you talk to your mom? Cant she come into town to throw you one? She doesnt have to be in town to plan one... or you BMs can throw one for you
