Does anyone ever worry they'll look back on their dresses
Like we look back on 80's dresses?? I love when the 'pouf' of the sleeve is as big as the bride's HEAD.

I hope I don't hurt anyones feelings, because I really dont' mean too, but IMHO I never liked the brides wearing hats on their weddings. I always thought that was a little too much for someones head. But thats just my opinion.

Yes, I totally worry about that. I think it's part of the reason that I went with a style that I have always liked, as opposed to what I liked from current magazines.
I remember when my sister was planning her wedding in 1988, there was a girl in the dress shop and I LOVED her gown. The sleeves were puffy near the top and tapered toward the bottom. Toward the bottom of the puffy section, there were strands of beads dangling. I thought that was the coolest thing. Now I could puke!!! They were gorgeous beads, but still. YUCK!

post a picture. I want to see who was more 1980s, me or her! But if she had puffy sleeves, she wins!

That's exactly why I don't expect my 'potential' daughter (that I don't even have yet!) to wear my dress.
I know some girls want to save their dress but in reality it's really just for souvenir.
Imagine if our mothers saved those dresses for US.

OK GOD FORGIVE Me!
The pictures were cute - I am QUITE understanding of slaves to fashion, but you saying 'God forgive me' had me ROLLING!!!

Okay 80's styke or not I don't think I would have liked those horrific looking dresses even back then. I think today's styles are more timeless and classic anyway.

My dress was rather trendy and it makes me wonder whether it is worth it to preserve it as I know my child will never wear it. However, had my mother's dress been preserved properly, I would have worn it. It was timeless. Looks like a Maggie though I don't think Maggie was born when they got married!
Re: Does anyone ever worry they'll look back on their dresses
i sorta do, but i dont care bc i love it NOW. mine has that gathered look to the skirt...but when i ordered my dress it wasn't so popular. a few months after i ordered it i couldnt turn a page in andy bridal magazine without seeing a dress with that 'caugh up' look.. but thats OK i still love my dress. ~Lacey

OK, you know you're 80s when you have a sideways headpiece!
I just think that every generation thinks that their dresses are timeless. But, are they really?

Those pics are great! I used to work with a girl who is stuck in the 80's and those pics made me think of her! She must go through a can of Rave per week and she wears 80's style makeup, but God love her, she was a crazy girl.
Yes, the dangling headband is priceless!

My children will probably have something wise to say about my dress and I am sure I will l too as times go by.
