Does anyone feel like.......

being engaged and planning a wedding has made you LESS close to your BMs?

I can honestly say that three of my five BMs have been a pain in my butt and made life harder for me (rather than easier) these last few months and I don't feel the same love for them anymore. One had the audacity to tell me (her and her FH have a problem with one of the other GMs - and aren't too subtle about their disdain) that she couldn't help if something happened between her FH and the GM at the wedding, but that she is sure 'that there are alot of people I should be worrying about more than her FH' (which is total crap cause I know no one else would start anything at the wedding).

Sigh it just makes me sad that I loved these girls enough to make them my BMs and they do nothing but make things harder for me (I don't care that they don't help with anything or ask if I need help, it just pisses me off that they make planning HARDER for me)

I'm sorry this has happened to you... I am sure you are not the first one to feel this way.

I was very fortunate that all my BMs were wonderful, and if anything the wedding planning made me feel closer to them.

I feel this way about the other two. I hope I can do as great a job for their weddings as they did for mine.

I know how you feel...people always told me that you see your true friends when you get married and it's so true!
I can't say that for all of my BM but it's funny b/c the ones that I thought would be there for me 100% I realized how much I couldn't count on and the others that I wasn't as close with (FSIL's) have been beyond wonderful!

So far I've been very lucky, but I'm surprised by who has been more involved, interested, excited...because it's not who I originally thought. I thought my best friend would be the leader of the pack of the 7 girls, but apparently she has been the most challenging person to work with and get in touch with when it comes to planning my two showers. Aside from my sister (MOH) the girls who have been most involved are my friend who just had a baby, my friend who works full time and goes to school, and FH's best friend - the BM I was the least close to when I got engaged.

It's definitely true what they say about people's true colors coming out when a wedding is being planned. I'm sorry you are feeling this way and I hope it doesn't take away from your happiness!

My BM both live OOT. In some way I think this is a blessing because I had NO expectations of things they would do for me. Although, one of them is leaving on Monday for Tanzania for 5 weeks. Her dress is due in any day now and there won't be anyone home for me to send it to. I'm a little worried about the alterations now, but there is nothing I can do.

This is why I just didn't have a bridal party. I knew from my sister that having one was more stress and I couldn't deal.....I hope things get better for you!
