My dress just came in and I went just to try it one. I still love the way it looks, but I didn't remember it being so HEAVY!! It is a strapless satin Maggie sottero gown and I feel like my back is going to kill me and I won't be able to wait to get out of it.
My FH asked me if I will be hanging weight on myself for the next few months to to prepare myself !

I had a ballgown and yes it was heavy! And with all that tulle I was VERY warm under there. Thank goodness we didn't get married in the summer!

Wish I knew what my dress LOOKED like let alone feels like!
(My Godmother is making it. I gave her some preliminary sketches of what I wanted, but have no clue what it will look like with her touches! I trust her 1,000,000% though!

FYI-anyone who wants a ballgown, but is concerned about this, the Justin Alexander satin gown I tried on, is huge, but was ten times lighter than the others I had tried

I have a detachable train so it is heavy when it is attached but SO much lighter when it is taken off...thank goodness I think I would fall over if I was dancing

Re: Does anyone feel like their dress in very heavy??
I probably had the heaviest dress in history (besides Melania Trump's. I was REALLY concerned that it was going to inhibit the fun I would have at the wedding. I even picked out a second dress. However, my mom warned me not to baby the dress. On my wedding day, I tripped a few times, my dad tripped dancing with me.....but overall, it was just like wearing another dress. It sure felt good when I took it off that night. But I love my dress and can't believe I was going to let the size of it ruin my day.

Yes it is. I'm not a big dancer. I'm going to be doing a lot o mingling and if its nice out I'll be outside a lot too.

My dress was prob about 50 pounds if not more!! Boy I was tired but it was worth every momment. I also had major bruises on my hips from the crinoline and the weight of the dress. For 3 days after the wedding it felt like I worked out extremely hard!! It took me a couple of hours in the hot tub on the HM to finally get my muscles to relax.
