Re: Does anyone have
Believe me I fought long and hard --- I can handle the basic cleaning but have noticed it has been harder and harder to find the time to do the major stuff(wipe down walls, cabinets, wash windows, clean basebords, etc) so if I know that someone will be doing the 'fun' stuff I do on Sat mornings then I can spend time doing the bigger things-- Also this ties into a new job situation--- which was the leverage that I used!!!! Plus as I started researching it is not nearly as much money as I thought--so if it means one less dinner a month that is fine with me Laura

Re: Does anyone have
I called someone that the old owner of my house use to use and she was only $55/a time. I thought that was well worth the free time it would give me. I asked her only to clean the 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, halls and family room twice a month. She offered to do more for the same rate but unfortunately I can't use her because I am scared to leave my home open to her when I am not home and she doesn't work weekends and evenings. Although the old owner said you can leave anything in front of her and she is very trust worthy. She also cleans the sister and mom's house of the old owner. I just can't personally do this.
Other places I called were 7$0-95 for the same services. But no one yet that works Saturdays or evenings...if anyone knows someone - please let me know!

My lady cleans my bathroom, kitchen, and vacuums and dusts. And occasionally I have her stay longer to do windows

Re: Does anyone have
Your prices help-- The woman I found charges $60 to the women that recommended her to me--and I think my house might be a bit smaller--so that seems about right--- I wish I could pass her on but I am in NJ. I agree that I wouldn't trust anyone in our house so I am getting up extra early every other Sat but it will be worth it!!!

Re: Does anyone have
Thanks anyway. Iguess I am so use to city living that is bugging me with this. When DH lived in the city, his roommate hired a cleaning lady that came at like 8-10pm! In LI, everything is 9-5 - and just leave your door unlocked - don't worry you can trust me! But my city girls says no. The old owner use to leave her door unlocked all the time for the cleaning person. Just scares me too much.

Re: Does anyone have
One way to get recommendations is thru neighborhood groups- we have what is called a newcomers group (although no one is really a newcomer to the town but you get the idea!!) rotary clubs, local newspaper, yahoo group for your town, etc--- HTH

Re: Does anyone have
My neighbor down the block from me does cleaning. I used to work with her during my vacations to make some extra $$$$ and if she needed help. She does great work, and is pretty reasonable. It is hard work
