It depends. If you have pets or plan to have pets, I wouldn't recommend the bagless. We had two, each lasted about a year and then they broke and fixing them was more expensive than getting a new one. We have two cats so finally I broke down and bought this cool little samsung canister vac (w/ bag) which was expensive but we probably won't ever have to get a new one.
If you don't have pet hair, bagless is probably fine.

I LOVE our bagless!!!! Never having to buy bags is awesome!!!! We finally took down our tree and their were tons of pine needles and it worked great!!!

I have a Hoover Wind Tunnel. I love it!!! It really uhhhhh s*cks The only thing that isnt great is when you have to empty the canister and the dust goes all over in one big POOF but other than that its the best vacuum Ive ever had.

My 'good' vacuum is an Electrolux canister with bags that just drop right in - I love it. I also have a small, lightweight bagless Eureka which I use for quick touch-ups. It's OK, but I always manage to spill some of the dust and stuff when I empty it.

I had one but it did break a few times, I think because our dog sheds a lot-plus i'm a vacuum fanatic and vacuum like twice a day (i love clean, fresh carpets )-my mom got an Oreck for Christmas and she has 2 labs and 2 cats and says it works GREAT on pet hair so i'm going to register for an Oreck.

UH-OH I have a shedding dog and we registered for a bagless. Why are they bad for hair? Should we get a bagged vaccuum instead?
What kind of Oreck? Do you know if they have them at BBB?
