Re: Does anyone have a Cocker Spaniel??
YOu can go online and research them.
If and when you decide to get one, please look into a rescue. Please don't buy one from a back yard breeder or pet store. YOu can start by doing a search on petfinders.com

Re: Does anyone have a Cocker Spaniel??
I have a Cocker, he is 14 weeks old... He doesn't shed all that much, although I do brush him often. His ears are a pain. They have to be cleaned every other day, they tend to get infections very easily. The breed tends to be highly intelligant, but he is very active and a bit snippy at times. He drives me nuts. He will get to be around 25lbs.
I have a cocker he is 3 and he is the most amazing dog! my aunt and sister also have cockers they are so sweet we keep ours cut pretty short so he does not shed.

Re: Does anyone have a Cocker Spaniel??
i have a cocker spaniel and i had no idea how great the breed was till we adopted him! they don't shed *too* much, but they do shed. j.j. is black so if i'm wearing a white shirt and i hold him it's all over, but i just love him to bits and pieces.
here's a pic of J.J.
I saw some *adorable* cockers for adoption through a rescue on petfinder...i would def recommended adopting one, there are so many that need homes
I had a buff colored female cocker spaniel. She did have problems with her ears but was very sweet and loyal. One problem that is common to females of the breed is submissive urninating. When she was happy to see you or you gave her attention she would pee. Other than that she never had any accidents. ETA: Also common to this breed and many other breeds are problems with their weight. She did get very heavy (tablescraps from Grandma) which led to her having diabetes.

Re: Does anyone have a Cocker Spaniel??
bailey just turned 4yrs. old this month. he sheds a bit but you really only notice it on the carpet. he also has ear problems and they need to be cleaned a lot (which he hates) so that they won't get infected. they need to be groomed and brushed frequently too. he's larger than the average male (about 30lbs.). bailey is very active and needs oodles of attention! he's very attached and is unhappy when i'm not within 5 feet off him. he's overly friendly and so loving. cockers are very smart and bailey knows about 60 words/commands. they're a 'high maintenance' dog and i recommend a lot of research before u get one but they are so amazing and sweet and loyal. i LOVE my baby!!!
