we are thinking about getting one and just wanted to know how the breed handles i.e. house breaking, travel well, loudness, etc.
Any feedback would be great.

I don't know how much help I'm going to be, but my friend in high school had one. He was the sweetest dog! Very well-tempered. Only thing was as he got older he had a hard time getting up the stairs because of back problems. But he used to travel with them to Fire Island every summer and seemed to do ok.
