Re: Does anyone have a curriculum vitae?

no one? well ok...help me with this question....I went to study in China footed by the insurance company AIG (the head guy was born in China - and sends teachers there to highten US students awareness of China) - but it was in connection with the American Forum for Global Education...

I was also chosen to take part in a 'teaching Asian studies' seminar...which I receive Brooklyn College credit...recieved books for free...a stipend for myself ($500) and a stipend for my school library ($300)...

how do I word these? and what category do I put them under? Grants? or Honors and Awards?

also is being a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution a professional organization? no right? community involvement?

thanks

Re: Does anyone have a curriculum vitae?

Erica, almost all law professors have one posted on the law school websites. I would always see them when I was looking up professors office hours, etc. If you pull up a law school webpage and look at the faculty, you will probably find a bunch of examples to look at. Having seen CVs of all different kinds of experts, I would say that most professions follow the same general format for what a CV contains, so hopefully the legal CVs will help.

ETA - DON'T spend $200!!! That is insane.

Erica, I don't know the difference b/w a CV and a resume, but perhaps you can list your projects under 'Grant based educational assignments'? or 'special assignments and grants'?

I agree about suggestion of looking at some professor websites. This guy did some research that involved travel (he was a faculty master in my dorm a while back)

Yabbo

Do a google search for 'cirriculum vitae' and 'grants' or 'accomplishments' and see what pops up.

or just go on sites like nyu.edu or columbia.edu or duke or really any college but i think the 1st tier colleges would have CV's on their website for sure.

i'd do a thorough search before spending any $$

also can your college where you got your postsecondary degree help you with it?

Re: Does anyone have a curriculum vitae?

I'm googled out on this topic...

I just feel like I have nothing compared to some of these people...

since the job is at a community college...i thought that i would look at different CCs...but not many profs there have their CVs posted...

DH thinks spending the $$ isn't bad...if it will get me the job...but I just feel so guilty spending moeny...

Hey Erica!!

I'll get my sister to e-mail me her CV. I'm not sure how much it will help (she has her Ph.D. in Nursing), but I hope so! Warning: it's long - I think 6 pages.

FM me your e-mail addy and I'll forward it when I get it!

Good luck!
