I just got one and although I'm brushing her every day (ok, almost everyda), she is already getting knots on her legs and under her chin. Help!

Oh! Do you have any pics of Hershey? The dog I had before this was a mixed breed, Maddie, and people always asked if she was part Wheaten too. Maddie passed away in May.
I have pics of Zoey, my Wheaten. I'll post one....

my parents have a hairy little pup - a Bijon and she gets terribly knotted up. My dad tried to brush her everyday - but it was no use - the second she ran around - the knots would come back. so they shaved her - and even though she looks funny all skinny....she is much happier!

Once their hair gets long enough, it does tend to get matted if you dont brush it often. In the summer, we try to keep his hair short as well so he's cooler and the knotting isnt so much of a pain in the a&&.
You will love him so much.....the personalities on these dogs....are hysterical!!!

I have a wheaten, it's my sister's actually, but she's lived with me for 6 years now-I shave her down in the summer to be cooler, but during the year I brush her as often as I can, for easy knots, I use a little spray on conditioner-and comb them out, for thick knots, I trim them out...the fur under her chin gets yucky from her food/water dishes, I use a damp wash cloth and conditioner to wash that fur (and then I wash it off), every couple of days, and I trim that too......

wow they are a lot of grooming huh? I never realized that- I'll stick with my beagle! lol
BUT Zoey is quite possibly the cutest and most photogenic dog ever! SO adorable!

I have two....Katie 5 months and Bailey 6 years. Love them oh so much. But you do have to groom them constantly. I usually sit on the floor with scissors, comb and brush while watching TV gently get at the knots. Hard work but oh, so worth it.
she's really adorable. my mom wants a wheaten - is she a good puppy? where did you get her?

We got her at canine corral in Huntington. I got Bailey the 6 year old at House of Puppies on Kisena Blvd.. ... Bailey was a better puppy, and I am hoping she will teach Katie to be good So far she is a little feisty, but they are very a very loving breed. You learn that you are their world. Its quite a good feeling.
