We have a GE, Joe bought it after I got sick alot last year. It has helped but I still sometimes wake up congested.

We have one that is supposed to purify the air in the entire house. It came with the house. I cant really tell if its the LI vs Queens or the air purifier but our house is not as dusty as our appartment was and my alergies dont seem as bad.

We have the Sharper Image air purifyer. I definitely notice a difference when we have it on. I am asthmatic and am allergic to cats (we have two) so I keep it on at night and it's helpful.

We got the Sharper Image one for just the opposite reason - I saw a couple of good reviews on websites. DH was always congested in the winter and it helped him a lot (and me - he doesn't keep me up at night!) When my parents were visiting we let them try it because my Mom has had a chronic problem with light congestion and wakes up coughing a lot at night. With the air purifier she didn't wake up coughing. When they got home to AZ they bought two of them.

my dad loves his....
he works on barclay street(one of the buildings that was relocated for months after 9/11)... they were brought back into the building a little early and had air problems... my dad bought an air purifier and it cleared it up, and he said many people have come over to him, telling him how much better it is now...
